I went to golden tobacco today in palatine to hopefully pick up some
goldens and lo and behold, which brand did i find chillin on the shelf
in a 250 g box for 13.99 in grapefruit flavor?

Havana grapefruit-

Cut is a little better than the typical havana in the 50 g boxes. The
smell of the tobacco is definitely grapefruit, but with a weird
undertone of something not pleasant to smell. The taste is grapefruit,
not overwhelming, but there. Has a definitive harshness if you toke too
much. Weird potpurri-esque undertone to the flavor as well. Something
about this flavor seems that it would mix well with a good honey flavor
too (i bought al waha honey at the shop next door, ill smoke that next
and if it works, mix them).

This flavor was alright in my opinion and alright will score a solid 8.

Rating: A solid 8 out of 10

Re-Review for Havana Menthol:

I hate havana menthol, i cant believe they screwed up that flavor, much
better mints out there... sometimes it is somewhat standable, other
times absolutley disgusting with no mint undertone.

Al fahker, and Romman mint are better.

Al-waha and Nahkla mint are probably better too.

Rating: Not Worth the money (less than 7 to 10 on a 1 to 10 scale)

A special note: I'm theorizing
that QC is probably better in havana brand for the 250 gram tubs rather
then the 50 gram boxes, this is not an advantage. A thing ive noticed
is that havana flavors in general dont have the pace through the smoke
as other brands, flavors like to deteriorate and become something odd...

Al-waha 5 star Re-Review-
smoking it a second time while typing out a review this time, giving "5 star" 9 out of 10 is a little too much credit.
Revised Rating: 8.5 out of 10
aka "what was i smoking when i gave it 9 out of 10"

Al Fahker Apple-
Great apple flavor, candy apple feel to it. Smokes well (tons of smoke), seems to be slightly harsh (its pretty minimal) but im putting that on the account of the crappy coals im using. Lots of flavor here, a wonderful adventure for your palette. Typical Al Fahker cut, a great smoke.
Rating: 9 out of 10, and im not a big fan of apple flavors, this impressed me.
I also apologize for the incorrect name of my thread (i newbied it up), if there was a thread title edit function, i would have changed it long ago.

hey great glavin, was there any licorice flavor at all to it?? AF Apple is something I really want to try and may just pick up a 250g of it since it has gotten rave reviews, but I HATE black licorice/anise flavor in ma'assel - did you detect ANY of this in your smoke?  thanks!

There wasnt even the slightest taste of anise in this apple in my opinion.

About the 5Star mix by Al Waha, has this happend to anyone else or just
me? When I first set the coals on the packed bowl and attempt to get it
going, something about 5Star makes me cough. I know its not a harsh
feeling that is making me cough, but the 5Star seems VERY strong when
going. Then after about 10 minutes of coughing every once in a while it
mellows out and tastes great.

I also noticed this in my Al Waha Bannana. Its too damn overpowering in
the first 10-15 minutes, causing me to cough not from burning, but then
after that it mellows out and smokes great.

Not a huge problem but sort of annoying how these 2 flavors do this and none of their others does.

I don't remember if it was mentioned here,  but SocialSmoke will
be selling Havana in the near future.....a couple weeks from now,
I think.

And........GOOD NEWS......SocialSmoke should be selling ma'assel on their website again within the coming week or so

Nahkla Mint
When I opened the box, I expected a nice green color or
something, being mint. While the brown color disappointed me a little,
I smelled it, and it had a slight "Vicks" smell to it, like the menthol
smell in Vicks Vapor Rub. I tried it, and while the mint smell was
quite strong, (so strong my girlfriend didn't like it and she smokes
menthols) I didn't think it was half bad. If I was congested in the
winter, smoking that would more than likely get rid of any stuffy nose.
Nahkla tobacco however, compared to Al-Fahker seems to be a lot more
dry. It still retains the flavor well, but the dryer cut seems to make
the smoke a bit less thick.

Overall Rating: 7-10.

Nahkla Mixed Fruit
Again, a brownish color, and dryer with less smoke than
Al-Fahker. I haven't had Mixed Fruit alone yet, but I mixed it with
Al-Fahker strawberry and it was delicious. It added a bit of a
different flavor to the strawberry, and with fruit punch at the bottom
of my bowl, I felt like I was in a fruit frenzy. An excellent 9.5 - 10
with the mix. When I try it alone, I'll revise this more.

Overall Rating: To be decided/updated later.

Yashman, I've never tried Al Waha, but is it a very wet tobacco?
Perhaps this is what's causing it. If there's a way to squeeze some of
the juices out, perhaps it won't hit so strong? I've got a few ideas on
how to do this, but I have no idea if they'd work.
Fumari Lemon Mint:
I was doubtful after the cola lamenessness but this flavor is a regular superstar, it has the uber overwhelmingness of the classic Fumari mint but after that dies (rather quickly into the smoking experience (20-30 mins)) you get a refreshingly mild lemon taste that can actually put out for 1 to 2 more hours. A great flavor and very worth the money. Rating: 9 out of 10
i have to second this review this is one of the best smokes i have had in the short time i have been smoking hookah. i ordered 9 flavors from fumari and i am having a hard time getting past this one to try the others. the day the order arrived the delivery man left it outside my door (i work night shift so he lets packages outside so he don't get me out of bed) when i got out of bed and walked into the kitchen i could actually smell this flavor trough the packaging and the front door.
funny thing is i have tried a few mints and mint mixes and loved them all but i absolutely hate menthol cigarettes.

Havana Special Grape-
Went down to golden today and picked this up, has a very solid black grape flavor. A weird taste with it though, not sure what it is but it has a slight tone of harshness. Good cut, a little wetter than the typical havana. If you like grape flavors, this one is definitely worth checking out. Not a personal favorite of mine really, but it is alright. One of the better Havana smokes, not sure if this flavor is even capable of being mixed with anything, too distinct.
Rating: A solid 8 out of 10

Havana Strawberry-

Tastes like strawberry, tries to mimic the Al fahker strawberry but
comes up short in both intenseness and endurance. Good, but al fahker
strawberry is alot better for the same price. Still, one of the better
havana smokes.

Rating: 8 out of 10
