Tangiers

Recommended Posts

Ok, so basically i just am wondering.....
WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR PEOPLE TO SMOKE TANGIERS?
I mean, i have brambelberry, nectarine, horchata and orange soda. I have smoked exactly one small phunnel of each one over a 9 day period.

First off : Perfect buzz. The buzz is not overpowering at all. Last time i smoked Romman (peach and Cinnamon) i felt like shit and had to stop from my buzz. The buzz i got from Tangiers was a steady buzz of unaldulterated amazing perfection. It was like a slightly perfect alcohol buzz.
Second : NO TINGLE. That's right, there was absolutely no tingle at all. From ANY of those flavors. There was no uncomfortableness.
Third : The flavor was downright perfection. I swear to god, i crave orange soda everyday now.

I have no idea why it gives people so much trouble! Each one was the best smoking session of my life.

This is by far the greatest shisha i have ever smoked. Period. And this is all i'm going to smoke from now on.

So what actually makes it so hard for people to smoke? I followed every direction that has been on this site, and they were perfect. The amount of coals, overpacking the bowls, acclimating it, the hole placement. Everything. I guess some of us are just.. ahem.. pussies.

I think it's the tendency for people to push down on the tobacco 'packing' it in a little too much in combination with packing a little less than they should to get good coverage throughout the bowl. There's a certain finesse to it.

I just had my first tangiers experience tonight...i bought 3 250 g bags...melon blend, kiwi and kashmir peach

tonight i smoked melon blend and i have to agree, it was phenomenal

i have one question tho

i packed the bowl then let it sit to acclimate...in doing so i assume all the glycerin runs to the bottom would it have been necessary to stir up the bowl before smoking?

i didnt but i have a feeling it would have been an even better session if i had done it

I usually pour the contents of the bag into a tub/carton stir and let it acclimate then stir again before packing into a bowl. I've never put it straight into the bowl before. Edited by mdl

Yes, i w saw in a bunch of posts that it should be the consistency in the bowl of what it is afetr you stir it up in the container. So it should be slathered in juicy goodnees. Thats what i did. I let mine acclimate in its container, then strirred it, then packed a bowl, then smoked it up, and jesus, i am in love.

Hey, don't listen to mdl...he works for me...Matt!

I think leaving a gap between the tobacco and the foil is a bad idea, sort of what Matt is saying and people spread it out, too thin. The tobacco is trained to know exactly how dense it wants to be.

Like I said before, Lots of people have no trouble with it at all, but half of the people that post about Tangiers post about not being able to get it to smoke well. Its normal for people to expect to get good products and have no trouble and when that happens, they just say nothing. People usually complain if they don't like something or can't get it to work right.

Glad you guys like it.

It took me a few tries, as I was used to Al-Waha and Starbuzz, but I got it. And damn, is it good....my only complaint is that horchata stunk up my hookah pretty good lol. Had to clean it real well after smoking it, cuz the next few bowls I smoked after the horchata I could still taste it. But hey, guess what....I'm about to smoke it again lol.

Yeah dude Horchata is pungent. But i kinda like the smell lingering.. and now i smoke nothing but Tangiers so each smell covers the previous one until i clean my hookah next week. smile.gif God horchata is delicious. I'm gonna compare it to Smiley's when i get my Smiley's stuff in.

Well, let me be loud and clear. I love Tangiers. Right now I've got six flavors that I rotate among depending on what I'm in the mood for. And I'm buy more flavors this weekend until I try each and every one of them. I'll keep Starbuzz around as my favorite washed (that was a not so gentle hint Eric about a washed Tangiers), but I'm telling you, I absolutely love Tangiers. Y'all must be girls in disguise to have gotten it right! Or as you said, you got in touch with your feminine side! Hooray!

do you keep the bag? and just pour the bowl in a container, or do a complete transfer....does it matter? will the shisha get dry faster if you ditch the bag

i ditched teh bag and got a square ziploc box thing and squeezed all the juice from the bag into the box

Yep, thats what i do. I have it so it's all smushed in.

I found these amazing round containers at the 99 Only store. Round, would hold about 400 grams total and guaranteed 100% air tight. The perfect size to either put Tangiers into or drop the entire tin of Starbuzz into. Now I've got my Leaning Tower of Shisha over by my hookahs!

i prefer doing that. It keeps the tobacco moist and the flavor completely in tact, today i acclimated some more Orange Soda and Brambleberry together, with a Big piece of tin foil in between the two open containers so as to not mix flavors. Then i put a big tin Pasta Strainer over each to protect from wild things. tongue.gif
