Xbox 360

I've really been contemplating lately on whether or not I should get an XBOX 360. It was previously just whatever to me but after a rousing game of Rainbow Six Vegas, I'm HOOKED! (Yes, I've played Gears of War and loved it but got a little sick of it honestly) I've been hearing that they are releasing a 65nm version of the 360 near Christmas time which runs cooler therefore quieter with a vast reduction in the feared Red Ring of Death. It's not any different than the current one because Microsoft didn't want compatability issues. So, wait for the new version or just go for the 360 now? I'm just itching to buy it but if i must wait then i will. What should I do?

Yeah, David knows what's up. The Elite is sexy! And the games that are eventually coming out... damn. And yes, RS:Vegas is the best game right now, in my opinion. The graphics are phenomenal. ANd Halo 3 is coming out... assassins creed....fifa '08 (very fun mind you) .... and evntually Prototype.. smile.gif. You can'y go wrong with a 360. PS3 just can't compete in terms of Games.

My dad's gettin direct tv so at bestbuy it takes 100 off the price of a 360 so I'm gettin one either today or friday, the middle package for 250. Then I gotta buy halo3 in 2 weeks and a live subscription. My bro has one already and has rainbow six too, it's pretty tight

I've had my 360 since the begining and no red ring of death so far. Maybe because I dont keep it in an encloed area, keep your xbox in a open air and it will be just fine dude. Get Dead Rising. Friggen great game along with RS3:V.

I got guitar hero 2 and then i got the ring of death. We sent it back to microsoft with free shipping and they fixed it up and sent it back. All fro free. And the 360 warranty was recently extended i believe. to 3 or 4 years i think?

my friend has the gamestop warranty, its possibly the nicest warranty ever.

no questions asked, xbox replacement. if my friends xbox so much as freezes, or does the most remote thing wrong, he just kicks it. then he takes it to gamestop and gets it replaced. renews the warranty for like 20 dollars and is on his way...

its so funny though i was there once when he did it. we were playing R6 and some bodies started floating i nthe air after we killed them. then he was walking down the hallway and it just freezes on the spot. he just calmly gets up, takes out the cd, and then just WHAM boots it in the side, and was like "alright dude time to get a new xbox"

(btw it was standing vertical)

They have a special harddrive! actually it's only 20 GB... but on the part where it says 20 GB like on the regular white edition... it says halo 3. I think it's just a paint job and surface mods... that's it. Comes pre-loaded with the halo 3 theme too lol... I've already held the box for the halo 3 edition xbox... Just get an elite dude, they rock... I love mine

Well, the standard 360 Premiums come with HDMI ports now so an Elite is not really NEEDED. Plus, I'm not really gonna be keeping it as a multimedia hub, just something to turn on and kill someone. I've been thinking of having two white controllers and two black controllers. Sexy. But, I'm still a little hesitant and really want to wait for the 65nm refresh (the production of the smaller chips reduces heat, energy consumption, and PRICE) because of aforementioned reasons. But the prospect of seeing R6 Vegas being played on my new 37" Samsung LCD HDTV makes me want to get the keys and buy one right now.

get an elite dood. people are always like 'its not for movies and crap, why do you need 120 gigs?" ill tell you why. tons of videos of cool upcoming new games. demoes of cool upcoming games. save data for your cool games. play cool arcade games. it adds up. i have count it, 2 movies saved to my HDD. so take away like what, 8 gigs of space. say i didnt have those movies. i'd still be using over 40 gigs right now. of just game videos, save data, demoes, arcade, and themes. woot.

The thing is, stuff like that doesn't interest me so much. Yes, I'm quite a gamer but I'm mostly PC based rather than console so my computer serves as a hub for everything. I just want a 360 for an awesome gaming machine to play w/ friends or a quick session without having to deal with a computer. So, as of right now, I think I'm going to wait for the 65nm refresh due around Christmas. I can always ask for it for my bday/christmas (both very close together).

Shouldn't have a problem with the ring of death, Microsoft fixed that after the first or second cycle of consoles. Thats why I'm never buying with in the first three months of a consoles release again, I got the ring of death while watching King Arthur.
