A meal beforehand is fine, but I just get the idea that nasty food crumbs will get on the hose or something. You get them dry, and soak them at least 12 hours, then change the water and boil for 1 hour. After that you change the water very often and after a little bitterness goes away you can start adding salt. The texture is great, a little crunch to them. The flavor is..well I am not sure how to explain them, kinda like really good popcorn. Very pleasant and clears the palate very easily. You can eat them with the skins on, but I would not eat to many that way...can cause constipation. You just squirt them out of their skin into you mouth and enjoy. I bet Falaffel and Pita with Hummus would be good though.As far as drinks, just something that pairs well. Juice, tea, coffee (french pressed, of course), beer...depends on the mood. I hear in Eygpt on the Alexandria coast they put theses in mesh bags after they cook them and then throw them in the Sea to get saltly. Yes Tirmus. I was going to post that but I was not sure how many would know of this tasty treat. I like 'em because all you need is 5 or 6 and you have a clear mouth ready for the Shisha taste. It is a nice little snack to have whilst smoking. Yes I love sweet mint tea also. I think I will have to pick up some (fresh hopefully) mint tonight.
