I also love the look of those, but I'm a fan of angular stuff. The name is somewhat fitting too.

note: just so you know, if you ever mention Mya on this forum, several people will tell you that the base will break. I'm not saying that they are wrong, just be ready for it. I personally have had 2 different bases on the QT and neither have broken, but perhaps I am more careful than others or got lucky. Edited by Glottis2

I'll make sure to post up a review as soon as I smoke it for a week or so...

I usually smoke 3-4 times a day so I'm sure that'll be enough to give an accurate review

I have just a small personal hookah that i usually use.

I'll prolly just bust this out if I've got people over that want to smoke...

but thanks for the heads up... I'll make sure it's treated like a god.

the qt base is about 100 times stronger than this base. I have never dropped this base or knocked it into anything. Just by taking the stem off of it, a corner would pop out on one of the sides.. and this happened twice!!

edit: compare the hardness of the qt glass and this hookah, they are about the same thickness but the obelisk is made of really soft glass Edited by ASUSEAN1

I'm a continuing fan of Egyptians and Syrians, but I do have a question.... It seems the Mya's are notorious for glass problems. Soooooooooo, has anyone ever actually made a formal documentated complaint in such a way that they consider another glass supplier? Or does eveyrone just sit around and whine about them, hmmmm? You know, a vendor can't improve if they don't have documented evidence indicating there's a serious problem.

Mya sucks period.

I wouldnt say Myas suck, I dont own one but Ive smoked from one many times and they smoke great. All you gotta do it be extra careful with the base like everyone else is saying.

No.....they suck. Mya RIPS off people, you can get such better pipes for the money.
Any I would take ANY egyption, syrian, and some knock off's, over many many mya's.

Gotta admit..... I can get two good egyptians for the price of one Mya, so for me they just don't seem a particularily good choice. I don't mind spending money but I want to make sure what I spend is well spent, ya know?

dude, naw. just naw. their bases suck. but their pipes are solid. heavy, well made (cast...). just the open heart is a bit of a pain. but they are no-learning curve hookahs that a monkey could make thick smoke come out of.

That is NOT encouragement to me to own one...... I love the whole art, history, and vibe of traditional hookahs. I didn't find a learning curve on my Egyptians or my Syrian. Maybe I'm just lucky. Maybe being a girl I not only ask for directions but follow them?
