from what i remember. we dont just give these out.... i never asked about it. just was browsing the forum and found it.

what are you trying to say?

that it gets a bit gauling that people just cruise past, ask for a discount code, get it and never come back?

exactly. some people join the forum just to reap the benefits and never contribute to the community.
poop on those people.

edit: i think there should be a rule against giving away discount codes to anyone who asks in the forum, whether they are new or regulars here. i think its safe to say that the regulars all know how to use the search function to find the codes (or already know the codes). if its someone new then its a good way to get them to learn how to use the search function. if they dont intend on coming back then at least they worked for it. only applies to Tangiers products if memory serves.

Nope. Applies to the entire subtotal in the shopping cart. How do I know this? Hmmm, might have something to do with the few hundred dollars I've spent there in the past couple months! They remain my favorite website. Shipping is never more than 2 days to leave their warehouse, they ship fed-ex ground NOT Uncaring Parcel Service and their shipping rates are very reasonable.

I've had this conversation with more than one vendor in hookahforum chat. Although sure they'd rather everyone using a code was a proactive member of the community, in general they said they were making sales and building business and could live with the occasional misuse of the code. What's more, just because someone doesn't continue to be part of the forum doesn't mean they don't continue to be loyal customers to those vendors who allow them to use the codes. Perhaps it's not the best system possible, but the bottom line is the vendors kind enough to allow discounts for forum members are the ones who get to make the rules on who and how they're used. And if they decide to change this methodology, like requesting we email for individual codes, etc., then so be it.
