guyt
I have a friend who only uses 3 Kings and a friend who only uses Golden for QL and they always argue about which one is better. Is there a real difference between the two or are they pretty much the same just different companies?
OPR234
If you must use a quicklight, go with the 3 kings. The goldens that came with my hookah tasted like old stinky garbage can.
MechAnt
It's purely up to the user. They are made differently and use is slightly but are pretty much the same. My personal favorite quicklites are Pharaoh's Elite Golden from southsmoke.com however I currently have a box of 3Kings to take to school with me and I'm very satisfied with them but the downside is that they tend to break toward the end of the session and ash somewhat frequently unlike the Pharaoh's which ash solid and very little and don't break. joseph*
The only QLs I have used in three years of hookah are goldens. When I started I thought they were great, but now that I am used to Al-adjad natural coals the goldens don't seem all that great. Still, they are a quality quicklight. Perhaps I'm a little too rough with them. Next time i'll be very careful taking it out of the foil (That's where I treat them very roughly)

crashingsucks9
3 kings kick ass for quick lights they feel kind of spongey and only take like 5 secods even with a lighter

guyt
Where is the best/cheapest place to buy either of those coals? I know H-S has the golden but they are a bit expensive, I was wondering if anywhere was cheaper? Or maybe some site had a good deal on 3 kings? anathema
I've used both. Golden QL before 3K.I notice more of a smell and a minute taste when I did go back to Goldens for a few days from 3K. Though at first, my friend claimed that he doesn't get headaches after smoking from Goldens (after 3 bowls), he can't even tell the difference.Imo, 3k is much more cleaner burning and more dense. lazria
i voted Goldens - my last few experiences with 3 kings were horrible (shattered on the bowl, crumbled, too much ash, short length - less than 30 min). I did find out atleast 1 of my rolls were the "fake" 3 kings, but the others were real. I switched to Goldens after a local vendor carried the 40mm and they rocked. Rather use naturals, but Goldens are my QL go-to's. Edited September 17, 2007 by lazria
