htayel1
When making a hole pattern in the tin foil.... "When you push in, make sure you push in as far as you can even through the molasses so that you will have healthy airflow in the bowl".I read this on another site, but not sure if it's legit. Anyone do this?
camelflage
like i always say, 'poke it till it squirms'.
iamscott06
i remember seeing that also, but i think the topic had to do with Tangiers if im correct.. not sure though... i just poke alot of small holes and it seems to work fine.
nofrendo
IMO, that's a good idea. I do it, it helps the heat to get to the bottom. I would imagine that blowing in the bottom of the bowl after you poke the holes would have the same effect.
HookahCulture
Poking through the foil should be separate from arranging your mahsell.I myself have an Egyptian handmade brown bowl, but this tip would be appropriate for all bowls ----Pack the mahsell loosely, don't put in more than halfway high, and make sure there's a quarter inch / half cm hole to the bottom for proper airflow.Holes in the foil also dictate airflow as well as HEAT level! You need to have some unheated air going through the foil as well so you don't burn your mahsell.Below is a GREAT pattern I worked out myself years ago - use a toothpick, NOT a pushpin. I stumbled upon Hookah Culture a while back and tried this pattern. Haven't used anything since
