Re-acclimate?

Recommended Posts

So its starting to get reall chilly out here. Our city went from averaging about 90deg (F) to 60deg (F) at nights. Im going to start smoking inside the garage. My question is, I just acclimated my tangiers less then a week ago (outside) and wanted to know if its ok to re-acclimate inside my garage so the tobacca can adapt to the new environment.

Unfortunately, im going to have to smoke outside for tonight untill i here from you guys. Time to pull out my dusty jacket and put it to use....lol

Safe, it even says on the tangiers package to allow the tobacco to sit outside (or where ever you or smoking) for a couple hours prior to smoking.

I have also read many posts on here about acclimating tangiers priot to smoking...

I think everyone reccomends not acclimating tangiers to begin with. For all you other shisha it shouldn't be a problem just mix up the juices.

quite the opposite actually.

yes acclimate it in the garage for a bit. i dont know if its necessary but it couldnt hurt.

Does this whole 'acclimation' concept sound nonsensical to anyone else?

Not at all.

Quoted from a prior discussion on the matter by OPR234.

"Acclimate: to get accustomed to a new condition or environment.

What this means in terms of your tobacco is getting it acclimated to the humidity conditions in which you'll be smoking it. Humidity actually plays a big role in terms of smoke quality. Heating shisha that is poorly acclimated will cause it to steam too rapidly or not rapidly enough, causing burning or thin smoke. When acclimated properly, it will steam at a proper pace and give you nice, big, tasty clouds of smoke." Edited by Foos

Most definetly not.

I was once so eager to try my new layalina blackberry that i opened it and just threw it into a bowl and smoked. Total crapola smoke, was massivly disappointed.

However tried it again the next day and wow! Smoke-a-thon and one of my all-time fav's.

Yes you do HAVE to let it sit out. I've had both, and it makes a huge huge change in the way it smoke, and tastes.

Eric says to acclimate it....eric is the president on tangiers....in other words listen to the boss.

I will definitely reacclimate it again in the garage.

Any suggestions on how long i should do it for? When i acclimate it the first time outside, i did it for 6hours and it was perfect. So im assuming that I should do it for 6 hours again.

And Oggie, i guess that would explain my terrible session with it last night. It was so harsh even though i had done everything the same (setup,packing,etc...) Could be that it went into shock.

you should only have to reaclimate it that long if it is a drastic change in humidity. I know mush acclimates it once at his lounge, but he smokes it inside there. I only had trouble with tangiers when i was in college in Savannah, it was so humid out that the acclimation would not do much, because i would not let it sit outside my dorm room. If you are going to smoke in your garage, just acclimate it once for 4-6 hours in there, then every time u smoke in there you should be fine or just let it sit 30 min whne you are about to smoke in there

I had some Tangiers that I had not acclimated. I had 4 different flavors, and they all smelled the same: like dog food

After about 6 hours outside, they all started smelling like exactly what they are supposed to smell like.

there is a huge difference in temp from outside and garage temp. Garage is probably about 80-90degs (F) right now and outside is like 60. My tobacco is being acclimated right now as I type. Ill hopefull get to try out again on friday night or something see if anything improves from my last smoke with it outside.
