Hey all. I'm back on the forum after many months of not having a chance to visit it. Been real busy with moving to a new place, starting a new business and going to school.

It's nice to be back on the forum rolleyes.gif I have a lot of reading to do!

heh yeah I plan to put up more of those "fancy" reviews up. Need to stock up on all the new shisha brands out to try them out.

Also thinking about getting a new hookah. My rotator hookah is coming to the end of its days

a few of my friends are local djs with residencies at the largest club venue in north america (the guvernment).
i also work as a club photographer. ive been wanting to buy a pair of cdj-1000mk3 and djm-800 but its a little too expensive. lol.

well as of now i have two mk1200s and a rane ttm56. i am looking into getting two SL-DZ1200's.

a few of my friends say they dont like that deck because its too bulky. does that deck have a full size platter? ive never actually seen one in use because every venue here seems to use the cdj1000 with a djm-600/800 or a&h xone62.

yeah i believe it is a full size platter. They are rather bulky if you are caring them around and a traveling DJ.
The Pioneer CDJ-1000 was my next choice.
The Allen and Heath mixers are very nice. I had a hard time deciding between the rane and A&H.

it looks like a full size platter anyhow. probably wouldnt be my cd deck of choice since the industry standard around most of the globe is the cdj1000.
ive never been a big fan of any rane mixers probably because i dont know much about them. they are rare around these parts and when you do see them its usually an old piece of crap rotary mixer. the bigass rane rotary mixer that mark oliver uses in the guvernment is crazy though. not sure which model it is.

i used to love a&h mixers but ever since pioneer came out with the djm800, i have fallen in love. dj fabian strong (of djs manzone&strong, locals) are one of the few local djs that know how to use that mixer properly along with all its features. watching him play is like watching a magician. they open for many of the international headliners that come to our city. they are actually opening for steve lawler this friday at This Is London (www.thisislondonclub.com) which is one of the clubs that i work at. they are the ones responsible for getting me my job at both clubs that i work at because they are the residents. super cool guys. i have a couple older sets of theirs from earlier this year if you're interested.

Well the rane mixer is a newer one. The big seller was the non-contact magnetic faders and crossfaders. I had one mixer crap out on me with the faders so that was a big plus for me. Plus the reviews on the mixer was good and not one negative thing about it. 750.00 us dollars.

if you think that only house is repetitive in the world of electronic music then you are so wrong. every 4x4 beat is repetitive... even breaks have a repetitive beat. as for only real djs spin vinyl.. LOL! i will argue that with only real djs play on cassette decks like back in the early years and they had to cut tapes. now that is talent... except there was no such thing as beat matching. what makes you think that only real djs dont play on cd? i agree that if we are talking about the dmc championships then scratching on a cdj is definitely a lot easier than on turntables since there is no cartridge or tone arm to worry about. but when it comes to regular mixing, many of today's top djs did play on vinyl until modern technology caught up with the industry and cdjs took over. a lot of clubs around here dont even have turntables in the booth any more. we are in the digital age.
