Dragonsmettle
Me and my buddy have been to a couple of hookah bars in Las Vegas and ive noticed that most of them suck. either it tastes like they dont ever clean the hookahs. Another place we go to called 'Red' or something like that, they have a nice feel for a place and atmosphere but they are always burning the shisha. They keep puttin a latched windcover over their bowls and it tends to make the shisha burn. My friend and I unlatch it and usually manage the heat ourselves but the management hates when we do it cause i guess they fear us dropping coals and catching the place on fire and whatnot. But my question here is do most hookah lounges suck or are we just unlucky with our choices?
kornkitten42
I hate going to the sahara in jax now. I don't know if they got a new owner or just don't care anymore but their hookahs have been SERIOUSLY lacking lately. There food is bomb diggity, but the atmosphere is just a bunch of drunk people walking around. The last 3 times i've been there my hookah has tasted like ass and the place has been dirty. That makes me sooo sad.Like last night. We had 2 hours to kill before resident evil 3. It take 45 min to get to the casbah and we couldn't turn around and go home.... so we went there. What a waste of money. I kept saying how I hated how I was paying 18.99 for a hookah and I could make a better one for 2 bucks. I was also mad because the chick was like oh it's 14.99 for this hookah and when the bill came she was like oops.. it was 18.99. Had you said that in the first place i wouldn't have gotten it. stupid kids.

Sure, there are good ones, but there are many more crappy ones.

ghostofdavid
You should have offered to opt out of paying the bill in exchange for teaching them how to set up a hookah properly. I can't wait until when one day I will own a hookah lounge. I mean if. Aww, crap, I'll my same dead end job forever.
Dragonsmettle
Yeah wouldnt be such a bad idea, My buddy says next time we go we should bring our own hookah and just ask em to fill up our bowls with shisha and we manage it from their. Might kinda defeat the point but i like the atmosphere of the joints

The hookahs there are always good, and we always get good service. I've never had a shit hookah at the Casbah. Yeah, the pricing there is crazy (Like the $23 it cost just to put milk in the base), but its a nice spot to chill when you need to kill time. I've heard the food there is good, too. The only thing I ever get from there is cheesecake, though. Ask for the peanut butter/Reeses cheesecake next time you're there. Its amazing, and pretty cheap. If you buy shisha from them, they give you 20ish grams of Al Fahker for $5! But its the only place open around here at night that will still sell shisha. Such a rip. Might kinda defeat the point but i like the atmosphere of the jointsUp here in State College, PA there's a hookah lounge, chronic town, with such a cool atmosphere but they just fill up a bowl, drop a coal in the center of it, and throw a windcover over it. Without any sort of heat management the smoke starts to thin out after 10 minutes, and is basically non-existant after 30-45 minutes. I've been thinking about asking if I could just pay ten bucks for a seat and take care of the rest my self, but at the same time I dont want to offend them.Ecstacy
Scheetz
This is why I love lounges like Eric's (Tangiers), Mush, Lazy Dayz as all the guys know how they like them packed and do the same for the customer. Another reason why I hope my lounge will take off. I want to push quality over everything else, if it doesn't smoke the way it should I would fix it. God help me so I can get my loan next week. Allia22
Bah, quality is hard to ensure. The only way I can make sure my customers get a good smoke is if I sit down and smoke with them, which is becoming a habit. They don't seem to mind at all, crazy 18 year old boys If it's a couple on a date, then I definitely DON'T sit with them, but I do what I can to make sure the conditions seem good for a decent smoke, like the proper amount of coals for how old the bowl is, things like that. Also I check to see how much their smoke output is, along with what's collecting in their jar. Sometimes they get a wussy hit, I frown and ask for the hose, take a hit, and get a huge cloud. hookster101
Hey well if anyone is comeing to vegas, i live here and the only hookah lounge i will go too is RED hookah lounge, when you step in there your like in a new country the music is great, the atmosphere is great, and the people are awsome, there are plenty of things to order off there menue as of flavor's its pricy but well worth the smoke. i would highly check this place out its on trop and peceos. the flavors are unbelievable, and you can put chad to the test on makeing anything, he can come up with a recipe. and he uses alot of nice tobaccos. the flavors are strong and tasty. not like someplaces were you taste burnt or coal, and its never harsh to smoke. But please check it out. the atmosphere there is just great.
Hammerhead
I have been to Paymons and they only serve herbal shisha due to the tobacco laws in Vegas. Nice atmosphere though and I hit happy hour so it was very reasonable but I had to step outside for a smoke to get my nicotine buzz.
nitrousconsumed
ive practically been to every club/lounge in vegas that serves hookah. i know the owner of red and he's pretty cool, although his prices are through the roof, and the reason they have those latched wind covers is because theyd get written up from the fire marshall if they didnt. asuza is pretty good, even though ive been there once, paymons is alrite. there are a whole bunch of restaurants/late night arabic lounges that serve hookah and are pretty decent, i guess it's because theyve been doing it way before it got big here. but honestly the best places ive been to smoke are at some local smoke shops that i go to and this strip club way down in green valley/hendernazi. amnite
You lot should be happy you actually got hookah cafes. Here in the UK the majority were closed down when the smoking ban came, the ones that are left are outside and are limited. We used to have 1000's of hookah bars spread across the UK, many of them in London. There were streets like edgeware full of hookah bars and even off the corner streets. The UK isnt big and everyone knows that, so its like 2/3 crowded tables outisde of a resturant today with the ban in place. So technically there are No hookah bars in the UK. The health organisations had the smoking ban include them just when they were becoming popular, most of the owners lost there jobs. Now many people have a hookah and smoke at home or a park but its nothing like how it used to be in the cafes. I think France is the next country in having there hookah bars closed down.
