Mitch
I just recently got into the whole hookah phenomena, and I was wondering if this would work:Out of more than a few shisha flavors I have, I have peach and mango. I was wondering if it was a good idea to mix the two together and also fill the base up with peach-mango vitamin water only.Is it fine to fill the base up with just the vitamin water or should I do half that and half tap water? Would it actually affect the taste of the smoke? Thanks.
Erica
The only thing I would stay away from puting 100% of in the base.. is... Milk... and any type of alchol... besides wine...If you filled it up with vitamin water.. I doubt it would effect the flavor that much... maybe try.... some apple juice... or something like that
RayVer
Well mixing up the shisha is a good idea. Now if it ends up good or not is your own personal opinion. Now as far as the vitamin water, i'm not sure if that would add to the flavor. That stuff consists of many artificial flavors. However it wouldn't hurt to try it. I'd mix up half and half. Whenever I add somoething to the base I always do it half and half.Post up your experience after you do it.QUOTE (Mitch @ Sep 25 2007, 11:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I just recently got into the whole hookah phenomena, and I was wondering if this would work:Out of more than a few shisha flavors I have, I have peach and mango. Mitch
Thanks for the replies. I'll probably do half and half like you suggested, maybe a little more vitamin water than regular water though. I'd imagine the vitamin water would produce some extra flavor, seeing as it is a pretty flavorful drink to begin with and it's one of the only vitamin waters that tastes exactly how it's supposed to--a blend of peach and mango. I'll post about the experience after I do it, which will probably be this evening. As for now, here is my hookah (sorry for the mess, the picture was taken when I had first taken everything out of the box and put it together) :-)30 inch 1-hose Pharaoh, Egyptian...Bought it from Hookah-Shisha.com
ZenSilk
Oo, i didn't know the Pharohs looked that... freakin nice. I thought they were just really dull. That is a very nice hookah though. And you have Romman peach, so actually i would tell you to ALWAYS mix it with something, and Romman mango is pretty amazing. One of my favorites. I bet if you did Layalina Peach or STarbuzz white peach with that mango, it would be amazing. That's a great mix idea.Ohh, and Maybe try 2 cans of Kern's Peach Nectar? Or any of their flavors (except guava, it tastes like dirt). They are creamy, and come in Peach, Mango and Apricot and are only 90 cents. If it's too thick, dump some out and add water. All the flavors I have are: Starbuzz Blueberry, Romman Raspberry (which is my least favorite of the kinds I have), Havana Mango, Romman Peach, Apple, and Strawberry (the apple and strawberry is a brand I have never heard of. It was RIDICULOUSLY cheap but it has a fairly decent taste and thick smoke quality...My friends purchased it for us to try).
RayVer
sweet. yeah let us know how it goes. Maybe vitamin water in the base will be the next big trend
ZenSilk
Apple and SB blueberry. Sb makes a good blueberry, and do what Erica said, with the apple juice. That's a good mix. Even though i'm not an apple lover, it was good.
HookahCulture
Yeah I would stay away from Vitamin Water, the peach or mango nectar mixed with water has more of an intense flavor and you'll get more out of it. Try splashing a little white wine in there too with the nectar! Not too much only a few ounces! It helps bring out the aromatics of the nectar. The Layalina flavors aren't as intense as I thought and I don't buy that anymore.
Mitch
The store was out of Peach-Mango vitamin water, so I'm going to smoke apple shisha with apple juice in the base and save the vitamin water idea for sometime later in the week. Should I mix the apple juice with water half and half or should I use all apple juice?

And sometimes Orange Juice, if it's a thick OJ or has pulp, it will be like half half or 3/4 OJ, if it's a more watery type of OJ or pulpless, I use full.Grape juice, full. Apple juice, full....It definitely adds a nice taste to it.I've got a box of Franzia Sunset Blush, which is a 14$ box of 5 litre wine... It is absolutely awesome in the base, you can taste it so well, especially with like rose in the bowl.I've also done the little packets of drink mixes, like a blue raspberry or something similar in the base... If your gonna do milk just do a quarter (or less). White wine is fine imo, if you like the alcoholic flavor, red wine you might need to water down. as for vitamin water, absolutely 100 percent fine, as is anything else, as long as its not carbonated or dairy based! Mitch
Okay, I put apple juice in the base and smoked apple shisha. It was very enjoyable, a stronger apple juice taste than the actual shisha though.<br>
Allia22
Yay, Kool-Aide! Juices (apple, grape, and most recently coconut) were great, milk if done correctly adds quite a bit for me... Surprisingly ice water isn't all that impressive. Wisconsinite thing? Probably.

I just unscrew the cap of one of those two liter plastic bottles and put it in the fridge for a day or two. You might wanna drink some and give it a shake, to expedite the process, but you should have totally flat cola by the end thats safe to put in the vase.
