So.. How exactly do you tell if it's brass? It certainly looks like "stainless" steel to me. And it's not as heavy as i would expect brass to be.

The core's brass, the outside's whatever passes for "stainless."

Ohh, that's cool then. I couldnt really see any brass color when i looked insode, so i wasnt sure. Thanks!

And my Khalil hose doesnt fit in the stem with a grommet, only without. Is that how anyone else's is? A nammor fits in it OK with a grommet.

another way you could tell if its brass is when you rinse the hookah after smoking, greenish liquid comes out of the stem. This doesnt happen all the time but it does most of the time.

about your stem fitting, try using a thinner grommet

Ohh, i did, i mean, this hose fits into the stem qithout a grommet, with barely any space, but it's a slight bit not airtight, which is why i'm worried. But i can't even fit a piece of paper into the space between the metal and the plastic.

I tried that too. But i found something.

The bowl grommet i got with my mya acrylic from H-S is made of silicone, so it's very stretchy. I put the wide part of the grommet over the stem, so the skinny part is sticking out up off the edge of the hose stem. So now i have a seal.

my KM hose doesn't fit with a grommet in any of my hookahs. Works just as well though.

Id say, try widdling down the end of the hose with a knife, if its wood. =]

Hehe its acrylic, but i think it will work fine. I wa smostly worry about the brass aspect of the stem. I cou;dnt tell, and was very worried.
