Hey I just got a brand new hookah and am having trouble with getting any flavor. I know the type of hookah is a good one becuase Im using roughly the same kind my friend is using and he gets great flavor out of his. Using a clay (not-shiny) bowl. I washed the stem and everything and the hose is new so I dont think its any of those things. Im using Starbuzz Strawberry and Charcol Queen coals. I'm thinking its maybe the clay bowl because the smoke tastes alot like the bowl smells?

Hmm, SB strawberry sucking... i dunno. I think pictures would help everyone out in solving your dilemma. tongue.gif

If it's your hose, you would be able to tell, cause you'd smell it when not smoking. Maybe clear the hose out, blow in it a couple times.

Maybe it's your heat management? SB can be quick to burn at times. Maybe too many coals? Maybe over-packing/under-packing the bowl?

Water level? Is there rust in the stem?

Yeah I'm working on getting a camera. My hose definatley does smell when not smoking, but I'm ordering a Nammor anyway. I'm pretty sure it's not the heat, I've been shown enough times how to work the coal around a bowl. It's not burning, I know what that tastes like, theres just almost no flavor. Im fairly sure the water level is fine as I've been shown how to do that too. It might be the bowl back, this kid who packs amazing heads has been helping me get my technique down though, so I suspect it's something else. And nope, the stem is perfectly smooth and spotless.
