Mathazar
Well, obviously I'm not Canadian, but I have an acquaintence who is President of Voodoo PC in Calgary. He's the guy who turned me onto Hookah smoking and inspired me to purchase my first hookah. He told me that there are NO hookah stores to order from in Canada, and that he buys ALL his ma'assel and hookah accessories in the United States. Infact, he recently purchased a Chiller Syrian Hookah from Hookah-Shisha. Sorry Stew, I hate to be so negative, but I think you're going to have a very hard time finding a place in Canada to order from. I've run Google Searches in the past and have come up empty-handed
Stew
the thing is I'm not looking to order from a canadian store, I'm wondering how much it cost to buy off of the internet and ship to canada.
upnorth
I had asked customs before about this and they basically calculated it to be $52 CDN for a 250gram box Since its coming from the states though, there is a chance that they wont inspect it and it will go through. upnorth
oh I should add, if the package is marked as gift it might just pass through
Soup
I recently learned that you CANNOT ship tobacco to Canada marked as gift as to the fact that it is illegal. Now that really sucks!
Stew
You CAN mark it as a gift, BUT if they open it and find out that it is tobacco, they'll charge you the duty.
Stew
ok, so has anyone in Canada ordered tobacco? I'm a little eager to get some info.

mushrat
Welcome to the forum frenchy. So what if the tobacco really is a gift? If it comes from an individual and you didnt pay them to send it, is it still illegal to mark it gift?
cypress
Details......Its not like we are smuggling in weed.
mushrat
I know, i know....but it was a real question none the less....what if the tobacco really is a gift, wonder if they would charge the recipient anyway...
Soup
Frenchy, Stew and I are from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Stew
The thing is Frenchy, the middle of Saskatchewan isn't the most convenient place to buy shisha tobacco. Like I said earlier, the closest place that I have heard rumors of carrying ma'assel is 6 hours away in Calgary, and the closest that I know that carries it is in Vancouver 20 hours away. I'm almost trying to justify paying damn near $100 for 250g. Damn the tobacco duties.

Damn the tobacco duties.[/quote] Jesus christ...I would have NOTHING to do with hookah if I had to pay $100 bones just for 250g of tobacco...Right now I'd have to say I have roughly around 2500g of tobacco, and I consider that to be average... Good luck to the Canadians on this board. I hope you guys find some solution to your tobacco woes. Or, just move to the States

Either that or get it shipped as "gift" and HOPE that it doesn't get caught by customs.
cypress
You are better off making friends with some one and paying them to ship it to you. The worse I think that could happen is that it gets held at customs and mysteriously disappear.

mushrat
Soup, why don't you make arrangements with Frenchy? He says he can get it locally and I'll bet you wont have customs issues shipping WITHIN Canada...or are they THAT insane? Look on the bright side, you pay less ofr your drugs. If you want to try the Gift thing let me know... I'll mark it Fragile, put something in that rattles a little, who will think it has tobacco. Even funnier, I'll put a container it it with some broken glass/ceramic in it so it sounds like its already broken... NO ONE will want to be opening that. Soup
Mush, I found out that it is illegal to ship tobacco interprovincially from one person to another. Check out dmoh7's "Canadians on this site!!!" post. Geez...I sound like a broke record *zzzziip* broken record *zzzziip* broken record...
Stew
One thing that I'm thinking of is just booking it down to Calgary, finding that damn store and buying in bulk. I'm talking copious ammounts of tobacco.
SMOKE~N~BUBBLZ
Hey, I am in a part of australia where we dont get much tobacco and i recently went to sydney to see a friend. I came back with nearly 10kg of teh stuff.......my lungs are not going to be too happy. If you import tobacco from teh states to Canada, mark teh package as being 12-15% Tobacco by weight. And you only pay duty for teh tobacco weight. The bulk of teh mass is molasses and syrup.
ahwahoo2006
I'll tell you what Canadians.... I'll send you some gift shisha, as long as I get something in return.
Soup
ahwahoo...i have nothing to give in return. I am currently unemployed and flat broke. There are some big anual festivals going on within the next month [The Fringe(street fair) and The Ex(amusement park)] and I need $29 to get a superpass for The Ex.
