you definitely want to use a brush.

and lemon juice is not expensive at all.... lol

if you want to be a big baller, use some vodka and it will take care of that smell for you. Or you can do lemon juice and/or baking soda.

Thats what she said. ahahah

Soak the stem and base in a vinager solution (1/3 vinager 2/3 hot water), then when the water cools down a bit, take a brush if you can and clean it up some. Soak it in the vinager solution overnight. Next morning, run hot water through it and it should be done.

another bonus is that you can add some baking soda to the solution.

Does no one just use liquid soap and water?

How do you wash your cups and pans up [before dishwashers you clever gits] ?

Keep it simple ladies wink.gif

JD.

I agree... I don't know what the deal is with all this mild acid cleansing. Just use a dish detergent, it'll work 100x better and will probably cause less corrosion.

Vinegar may temporarily kill any bad smells, but it's definitely going to come back if there's a gunky buildup. See if you can't pour some salt, rock or regular, into your stem and shake it around. You'll want to add some water or vinegar to help it not stick to the sides, plug the holes, and shake it like crazy. Works for my base that's too big for any brushes, should help a stem that's too small.

My hub smelled like ass after I smoked a brand of tobacco I never usually have.
So I just packed up about 3 bowls and just smoked through the nasty taste until it was all gone.
NEVER BUY Al WAHA
It may be 20% cheaper
but it's 100% crappier

Did you try letting it soak in hot water and soap for a good while? My stem has somewhat of a smell. Its more of old tobacco smell, water and metal. It wont go away and probably never will. No matter how much its cleaned it will still smell. However, I do not taste it.

Maybe try a strong flavored tobacco and see if that kills the taste.
