alamino2
Last night I was with some friends and I picked up my hookah from my house and brought it over there. We were sitting at the bottom of his driveway, and most of the people had gone back up to the house at like 2:30, but I was still down there at about 3:15. I started feeling tired, so I said that I was going to go back up to the house with a headache. I got about 40 feet away from my friends when my ears started ringing, and the next thing I knew, I was falling on the ground with everything fading to black. I came back to (I have no idea how much later) with my ears still ringing and I was semi dazed. Right now (about 6 hours later) my head still hurts, but my ears are fine. Does anyone know how smoking a hookah could cause me to faint like this? We just smoking regular hookah tobacco.
nicayotte
well my only guess is either A you didn't pace yourself or B you must have some underlining medical problem
alamino2
well hopefully it's a because b would suck. I've smoked plenty of hookah before, so this was just bizarre to me.
alamino2
Now that I think about it, I think it was just all the circumstances. A.) I hadn't eaten in 12 hours. B.) I was EXHAUSTED. and C.) I was only with one other person, and we were just going hard over and over again (because I was ready for it to go out so I could go up to bed)

In a word : Yes.Coals made specifically for hookah's are ok. Things like bbq coals can give you co2 posioning. So the coals are key for a 'safe' sessionJD
alamino2
well yeah, these were definitely specially for hookah, so I think it was probably just hunger and exhaustion mixed with a ton of hookah at one time.
Zildjian
something else we are forgetting...have you ever been laying down or sitting and then stand up ubruptly then feel dizzy. have u ever done this with a buzz? the rush of blood to your head alone being in that state could have very easily had the fainting effect on you. camelflage
you just overchilled. sitting down for a few hours depriving yourself of oxygen makes the getting up ehadrush so intense it causes people to faint. not too uncommon, ive seen it happen to a lot of people. just remember to drink fluids and occasionally move around when you smoke. mushrat
I had a woman pass out in the bar last night. One of my semi-regulars. She was standing in front of me paying and then she just started shaking and hit the floor. Had to call the para medics. Heard from her friend that went with her that they couldn't find abytging particularly wrong, she just blacked out.Never a dull moment here at Hookah Bliss. Bobby
Not fully cooking the coal can cause this.
Scoop
this hookah bar i used to go to had people faint every day. I was pounding his hookah one time, I got up and could hardly stand, I starting fading but recovered right as I was about to topple over.Only time its ever happened, I figure its from lack of oxygen because I sat down for a few seconds outside and felt fine. New2Hookah
I always make sure I eat and drink plenty BEFORE smoking...not during. Smoking on a full stomach is the best way to go.As others have said, dont push yourself; seems as if so many these days are killing theirselves trying to smoke huge clowds, etc etc. Your supposed to relax and just enjoy it. It's one of the most obvious signs that you've had some CO2 get into you. Oxygen clears it up. Immediately.'Rani
