the thing is JD, If they were to beat him rodney king style they would get into trouble and there would be more people screaming racism because they were white cops and a black criminal. If they were even to "beat him" to get him to stop resisting that would also get them into trouble because the NAACP would jump on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

Officers have to think about what they do. They did run after him, they tackled him, he continued to resist while they were trying to subdue him , so mr taser was brought out. Anything an officer uses has the ability to kill. (mace can kill those who are allergic, billy club, batons, and night sticks can kill if they are hit in the right spot, tasers and guns can kill etc) It's all about restraint. If a person has stopped resisting then force should no longer be used. No item should be used in excess. period. But alas it's not a perfect world

I agree that some people do use their tasers to much, but in clear instances like this, how are officers supposed to know if someone has been using drugs and is currently drugged out of their gourds?
