Asking For The Brand Name?

My local loung uses HookahHookah shisha. and they say it with pride.

HH is overpriced candy crap.
And don't EVEN get me started on their ethics.

i used to agree with the candy crap - but seriously, they can make it smoke nice, thick, white clouds (of course with some heat management from yours truly).

So just to update everyone on the results. I went to the bar, ordered my hookah and enjoyed a WONDERFUL session however when I asked the waitress what brand was used she was VERY polite and replied that the owners had told them they were not allowed to tell. I felt bad for her b/c she seemed like she was reluctant to say that as if maybe other customers had been rude to her when she replied that. Either way, it kind of upset me but oh well. She said the only thing she was allowed to say that it was from a town in Egypt and she gave the name but I couldn't really understand her to repeat it so it didn't narrow it down. Now I'm on a search b/c the flavor I got today was called Passion and it tasted just like Bubble Gum and I LOVED it so if anyone knows what this could POSSIBLY be let me know. Thanks a bunch guys!

You could try searching the reviews on the forum for passion flavors, see if anyone else noticed the same taste as you from a particular tobacco.

I gotta say, I find it pretty sketchy that they won't tell you the brand of the tobacco. If they're serving good stuff, they should be proud to tell you whose tobacco they're serving. If they're not proud to tell you, they either don't understand the culture or they're serving sub-par stuff.

thats very odd, ive called multiple hookah places and asked what they served, i have never once had them tell me that they wont tell me what it is... if i were you i would look for a new place to smoke or atleast tell the owners you are going to unless they tell you what kind it is...

or atleast call a manager to your table and ask them. i know one waitress i asked what kind of shisha they used and she didnt know what brand it was(however she did find out for me what it was (layalina))... so the waitress at your lounge might not know and didnt feel like finding out what it was... talk to a manager bro... its what i would do...

I'm not sure that I'm interested enough to find a manager only b/c it kind of made me mad. However the list was pretty much normal flavors and not a wide variety so I'll repeat what I can remember and when I head that way on Saturday I'll check it out to make sure all of them. I know thats not it but there are not many more that I'm missing. Somehow I think that they rename the Passion b/c I can't seem to find anything named pasion by any manufacturer and that stuff was awesome. The main reason I want to know is I'm having a lot of trouble with my setup. I'm using a knock off hookah that is about 18 with a mya standard bowl, double layering the foil just like theres and I'm using 30mm quicklite(which is the same size as what the bar is using, not sure if there is a quicklite or not) and I'm not hardly getting any smoke and the shisha is burning quickly. I don't pack the bowl all the way to the top and I don't "pack" at all. I move the coal a lot and it still sucks. I've only been using al-awaha so I don't know if thats the problem or not. But yet at this place they don't even give you a pair of tongs to move the coal. It burns in about 40 min in one spot and has HUGE smoke the entire time, with no burns, then they bring another one, sit it on the opposite side and it burns for about 20 min for the shisha is done for and I would love to get that but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Anyway I know this is rambling just trying to let everyone know why I'm so curious.

Hmmm. That's a tough one to cross reference. Those are pretty much all the standard flavors that pretty much all brands have except for the paradise. My guess would fall to Al Fakher.

As for you setup problems, too much heat is usually the main culprit. Try starting with only one piece of coal and after 2-3 minutes, if it doesnt thicken up, add another small piece. Edited October 11, 2007 by MechAnt

double apple most companys have, but htey dont always have both dubs apple and mixed fruit.
sounds to me like nakhla, though i wasn't aware they had rose.

edit: i think nakhla has every flavor on that list except for paradise.

They have just recently added the paradise so it could be although I don't seeing it be a mix but POSSIBLY a watermelon background. As for heat I've tried using only one coal and then I tried one and a half but both seem to burn the shisha. I'm hoping that maybe I'm just being picky and its the shisha. If this is stuff is Nakhla then I'm def gonna be sticking with that. Whatever it is I'm willing to pick up lol.
