Hookah Expenses..

I know what some of you are thinking about this thread. All i'm doing is wondering how much are you usually spending a month on your personal hookah (Businesses not included sorry mushy). So far i've spent about 20 bucks this month (This bieng my first month buying my own shisha after smoking all my samples) on shisha (Nahkla mint/strawberry). Once i get a job i'm not sure how much more money i'll be spending monthly.

Share your monthly expenses ranging between misc items, shisha, hoses etc.

Shisha : 30 Bucks a month - 1 tup of SB, 1 Af tub ( i will now purchase a 300 gr. from PYH each month)

Misc : 2 Nammor hoses, 3 hose covers (30 bucks for both nammors, 10 bucks for hose covers.), portable butane stove (25 bucks)

Hookah : 1 box of exoticas.


Now that i'm all set in regards to my hookah, hoses, charcoal, i won't be making any purchases other than 1 or 2 starbuzz flavors each month, and 1 300Gr. package of AF from PYH.

So from this point on, about 10-70 bucks a month.

Well you spend as much as you want really!
Once you have the setup you want, it just comes down to coals and flavors.
I myself don't smoke every day and only have a few favorite flavors I keep.
A recommended buy is a pack of hookah foils, a metal screen and a bag of mouthtips for your friends.
Many things you buy will last a long time, and a even a 5 dollar bag of finger coals will last a good while even if you smoke often.
For me I spend about $20 every few months!
Really, once you narrow down your favorite flavors, it's not too expensive.

A word about the hookah foils --- each round is TWO foils stuck together!
Carefully separate them between thumb and forefinger near the edges.

Total :- $46

Then about another $40 on shipping... so around $100 a month would be the norm... ish.

Both actually!
In the package there's a stack of rounds, and each foil circle is separated by a thin piece of paper.
Take out a foil circle and you'll find that it's 2 sheets. Every circle is like that.
They're VERY thin sheets! Be careful, they're fragile so don't get to aggressive with wrapping on the bowl or with the hole poker.
Nour makes them but I have a different brand, light blue box all in arabic.

Thanks JD. This is what i was looking for. HCulture, this thread is just about how much you spend on your precious hookah. Don't make it a competition but i just wanted to make a thread to see how much people spent on their hookah every month.

I spent $100 the last two months but now I probably am not going to buy for a good 4-5 months

Shisha : anywhere from $8 (local purchase) to $75 (I tend to order large chunks every 2-3 months)

Misc : normally bwt $15-20

Hookah : only buy a new one once or twice a year - $80-150

Monthly Total : not including the bi-yearly hookah purchase, $23-95, also not including shipping fees and random stuff (tupperware tubs, foil, lighter fluid or the gas bill)

This month's expence already: $4 (local shisha purchase) + $59 (shisha & coals) + $45 (more shisha) + $30 in fabric (for hose covers)/tupperware/foil = $138 {and it's only the 10th}

i don't really have a set expense per month, since my smoking varies from 3 or 4 times a month to 3 or 4 times a week, so it gets kinda different.

on the average though, i'd say
shisha: 20 per month

coals: 15 per month

misc :5 +15 shipping


so, on average $55 or so...

tobacco: Picked up 2 packs of Tangiers 250gm for $21 out of pocket! (split shipping and used forum discount ) and picked up Nakhla mango 250gm for about $7. This month so far, $28 on shisha

coals - $5 bag of Nours

$33 so far for the month.

out of all the regular members on this forum i think i smoke the least.
i got my first hookah (and first smoke) last october from socialsmoke and i am only on my second box of 3kings.
ive spent over $200USD plus shipping on all my stuff (20" egyptian, mya qt, medium funnel and mod, 3 boxes of easylite, 2 boxes 3kings, 2x250g af grape, 250g af strawberry, 250g af mint, 250g af mango, starbuzz natural coals, etc) but i just dont smoke much. i just enjoy having some options when i do decide to smoke.

its really hard for me to put a number on my monthly spending because during the summer months i might smoke 1-3 times per week but during the winter months i might smoke only once or twice for the whole season.

its hard to classify a per month expense for me, i usually spend about $40 every few months, getting a good stock of shish, then i won't order for a good 3-5 months...

I'm from Hawaii (island of Oahu), almost everything is expensive here, and not to mention the tobacco tax is like 40% here and the shipping on top of that would make you want to kill yourself and your dog so I'm guessing thats why they're so high priced at the shops.

And yes, I've been slowly searching the web for an online shop with great service reviews but with really cheap shipping to Hawaii.
I've searched for sites on here too but after a while it gets kinda confusing.

the prices vary depending on vendor. if you are buying legit (paying appropriate duties) then a 50g pack of nakhla (wont find anything else here in the city) costs roughly $13. one legit place sells all nakhla and one flavour of al fakher (grape) and 50g of that is $15.

however, if you go to a place that sells under the table a 250g of nakhla is $20.

i pay $5 for a box of nakhla and $10 for a box of 3k at the local med shops..at the headshops a box of havana is $20 and a roll of rolland QL is $5 you just have to know where to go
