RayVer
whats wrong with using your two hose as a one hose? Does it have auto-seal valves? My 3-hose mya came with an extra non autoseal hose valve and a blowoff valve for setting it up as a 1-hose Edited October 12, 2007 by RayVer
Victim026
I've got 4 of the SS hookah, I wouldn't suggest the XL Polaris. I've noticed that compared to the other ones I have which are 2 Medium Sirius and a Large Minerva the Polaris doesn't smoke as well and has a harder pull. I would say go with the Minerva and you'll be plenty happy...
ZenSilk
That's a pretty one!I say go with a Syrian from JandRhookahs.com , a 22" Egyptian from the same place, or a KM Amer from HookahCompany.
New2Hookah
Im not too sure he wants to spend that much, seeing he showed a lesser priced hookah @ $82. With that said, you should check out J & R, they got sensational prices that seem to be unbeatable. Call them up, they might have what you\'re looking for... ZenSilk
$100 bucks will get him a JandR syrian, or a Social Smoke Syrian (with money left)
New2Hookah
This is true. I believe JandR is also known to just throw out ridiculous sales from time to time. But the SS he was looking at is $80, JandR\'s are $99. I think it\'d be worth the $20.00 difference. Social Smoke Syrians all look like crap with those Egyptian vases imho. rbyers
What's different between a syrian and an egyptian hookah?
ZenSilk
Looks, how they are made, price. Thats it really. Syrians are made with mostly machine parts so they fit perfectly. But they can be alot weaker in that sense. Egyptians are made all by hand, and very sturdy, but may not always be airtight and some stuff may not fit perfectly. It's almost all based on preference. rbyers
I've really enjoyed the egyptian that I have... I dunno if I'd want a syrian. Is the only difference how they're created? And you say weaker in that sense... How would it be weaker for being machine made?
New2Hookah
Syrians are not weaker, they are actually much stronger. Solid Brass shafts vs. welded together hollow \"steel\". Its self explanatory. Dotn get me wrong, I have an egyptian myself, welded, and its sturdy and smokes well, but Syrians are much higher quality; their fit, finish, construction, etc.
rbyers
I reckon I might get a syrian now that I've read some reviews.Woo! Not sure which one now. Might be awhile before I feel comfortable spending another $100 or so on a hookah; so I have plenty of time to choose.

If however you are comparing the best from both countries, this does not apply. The strength of good quality Egyptian or Syrian stems are both very high and are not usually tested to their limits under normal circumstances.A good quality Egyptian has clean welds, uses hand spun stainless steel(which is amazingly strong and lightweight), and are simply buffed to a mirror finish. No plating to flake off or tarnish. The main difference you will find is that syrian's are heavier, are plated, and have hand carved designs. Many times however Syrians tend to look old faster than Egyptians and will need to be polished and buffed to bring out their beauty. In addition, not all Syrians are created equal both in terms of quality and manufacturing technique. Many Syrians are solid brass, but are still welded together as they are not made from one piece of brass.
