Social Smoke, by "Solid Brass" do you mean that the stems are not hollow, but thick chunks of brass that are carved with a tube down the middle?
Like....

Not this: ("I" as the brass core stem that leads all the way down, "I" as in the walls of the shaft)

But this: ( 2 "I"'s just represent the core stem as above)

Should have my White Marble on Thursday. Pics and initial overall impression forthcoming soon after arrival. Won't be able to smoke until the weekend, and want to use it a bit before I write a more complete review (in the reviews section of course)...

And a vendor experience review will be posted as well... but so far pre-delivery, SS has been great. Ali was very helpful.

Hmmm.... Could you also, in your review, tap the shaft lightly with a screwdrriver and tell me if it's hollow or not? Or maybe judge by the weight or look. I cannot tell from pictures if the shaft is solid or hollow, probably hollow i'd say.

Probably hollow, but I'll try and figure it out and let you know. smile.gif

What exactly is it meant by hollow and solid stems? Is a solid on where they literally take a solid brass rod and drilled a hole in it and then carved it out some more and hollow where they make segments and then weld them together? Edited by MechAnt

Yes, that's how i see it. smile.gif

See, when i see "Hand Cut Hand Carved Brass" i see this guy drilling a hole in the middle and carving out the brass to make a gorgeous stem. If it's not the above description, i think "Machine Made" or atleast welded together, therefore being lighter. I don;t know about anyone else, but i love Heavy thick brass stems more than anything.

Well, guess what I just opened... Holy CRAP this thing is nice! I will post pictures real soon. Just need to pull them off the camera... looks like it took pretty crappy ones, but hopefully they will suffice. Wow... I love this thing!

Im so jealous! Picture heavy like mad! Put my university T1 to good use!

Here are a few. Had to use the old camera with batteries that last only a few shots each. I have to get the newer camera back from the folks one of these days.

Ready... set... go... smile.gif

Note: I did not take a pic from the top down with the bowl off... the hole looks bored and a bit off center at least at the very top. Possibly a clue that the stem is solid brass with a hole cut through the middle. It's solid as heck, and the marble is gorgeous! The ashtray is actually plenty big, and it has a lip too. The bowl came with a few chips, but I am expecting my phunnel in the mail this weekend anyway. Won't be able to smoke it for at least another day or two. Argh!!!

P.S. Thanks for the great service, and incredible hookah, Ali and Social Smoke!!! Edited by oolatec

Yes, i agree, that marble tray is juts sexy. So it's pretty solid?? Would you say, a Tank, or a Hummer?

Two tanks... very solid... smile.gif

Gaara... no leaks from my initial check... won't be able to smoke until this weekend, so the verdict is still out... but no nasty tastes with an initial inhale etc. I'll have to get back to you all on how it smokes. 31" tall.

Zen... don't worry... it's a Made in Syria sticker. Just haven't taken it off yet... lol

Maybe the sticker is made in China. wink.gif
