Akkbar
This fall and winter I'm going to be doing some coyote hunting. They killed my friend's horse last year, so it's payback time. From what I hear, Alberta and Saskatchewan are grossly overpopulated... due partly to the grossly overpopulation of gophers.Anybody else into this or am I (again) the lone firearms enthusiast? My hunting buddies are all hookah lovers too (thanks to me). Our trips are going to be great! If anyone here wants to get in on the action, I could put them up for a weekend in the spare room.
Scheetz
QUOTE (Akkbar @ Oct 13 2007, 09:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Anybody else into this or am I (again) the lone firearms enthusiast?A few of us linger.. I have never been coyote hunting. Sounds like fun, only thing I hate about hunting is its always in the damn winter. Only thing good about winter is snowboarding/skiing. Hunting needs to become a summer activity. Atleast for Deer.
Akkbar
coyotes can be had year round. but in the winter, they get nice soft winter coats, which means i get a nice soft winter hat. plus i can make a buck or two on the pelts
Jonesy
I lived in Ontario Canada, for a year. You fellows are crazy! Shoot anything that moves! I(was 8yrs old at the time) used to go hunting with a few friends and my dad.We lived in a small mining town called Manitouwadge right up in the sticks. When the hunters used to shoot anything substantial like Moose or a Bear, they used to tie it onthe roof-rack of thier vehicles, and run around town honking thier horns, whislt the blood had to be washed off the windscreens with their wipers.!Beautiful country and such nice people, Need to visit sometime. KillZedKill
I saw a roadkill Coyote yesterday on my way to Southern California, if that counts =p. I think someones Hummer probably did most of the hunting though.

There are lots of backwards hicks up here, but most of us who hunt actually aren't too bad.
D-szlos
what do you intend to use on the coyotes? .223 seems to be a popular choice, as well as other rounds chambered for the Ar-15 (.300 whisper etc.)

ghostofdavid
I've never been hunting before in my life. Unless you count birds with BB Guns when I was like 7.

MechAnt
M1 Garand would blow the poor thing into oblivion! Plus, the pelt may be so shredded that it wont be as valuble
