About Reviews

I don't dare to bring it up in the review section and i dont know how it could be implimented (sp?) especially since there are already alot of reviews and stuff. I'm ordering some tobacco right now and i want to try some stuff i have not had before and i dont want to look through 5+ pages on each. What if there were some type of poll or something or rate average for each flavor? like:
Tangiers:
Pinapple: 8.5 avg
Kashmir Peach 9.5 avg
Blueberry 8 avg

Starbuzz:
White peach 9.5 avg
White grape 9 avg

like i said, i dont know how it would be put into place. and it would be at the beginning of each different brand and would be very large unfortunately. And if it were odne manually it would take a long long time. Maybe even if under each brand there were different threads for each flavor.

I dont know... i just really dont want to search through them all...
maybe i'm just an ass.
let me know mods.

=)

On a review page for a particular brand, I think I remember one of the mods (mushrat?) listings all the flavors and updating the ratings people post.

It's only five pages though...you can just go scan the scores in just a minute. Edited by Gaara

If someone wants todo this, I am happy to make a sticky at the top of each brand showing the average score per flavour and maintain it.

Remember kiddies - Mushrat isn't the only Mod tongue.gif

this is what i was kinda thinking...
if we could edit a sticky at the top of the page after we did a review and just add on then only the initial proccess would take a while. or even better... just start new with the scoring and the old ones will stay how they are.

I did remember! and i actually wondered which of you would get here first! laugh.gif

im happy to do that right now jonny. send me a pm and ill take care of all of em while im in class. just remember, if its public kiddies:

1) use a calculator
2) add all the numbers, then divide by the number of variable
3) do not add a number to an average and divide by 2...thats not a true average.

that would be too much of a pain in the ass to maintain. all that work just because someone is too lazy to read through a few simple pages of the review?

Nah, not really man.

If someone wants to kick it off. We can try it on, say, tangiers. See how it looks.

If it's good and worthwhile we can roll it out to other tobacco reviews?

I'm just too busy to kick it off - but happy to maintain.

we've tried it. doesn't work. waste of time and makes the place even more crowded and disorderly.
Not everyone grades on the same things or assigns points for certain aspects the same way. Some folks think buzz is important, others thinks it smoke, others overall flavour.

Best thing you can do is just scan through the reviews or use the search engine.

Why not just make a poll for rating the flavor ONLY, and make it clear that buzz shouldn't be considered for the poll?

Because that's not a fair total assessment of the tobacco as a whole. Also, for instance, I don't like Mango flavoured tobaccos, but I may smoke some since I carry it. It may be a great mango taste, but since I don't like mango, I may rate it lower and skew the scores.

As someone put it above, its al way to subjective to put an objective rating on. Thats why people simple write reviews that explain if they liked a flavour and why. If you aren't willing to take the 4 minutes it takes to scan through for the flavour you are looking for, it's obviously not THAT inportant to you to know what people think of it.
