Taurus does make some good stuff.. so does Nighthawk... but damn if you can't beat SA's bang for the buck... plus they are in Illinois... not even 3 hours from me... gotta give props to the home turf too! Thing that bugs me about the Target Match is the 2 piece guide rod, whereas the Loaded MC Operator has the one piece from the G.I. Just me being nit picky again... biggrin.gif

Meh guide rods are cheap to swap. Ultimately, you dont need even one. Original 1911s never had one. They came about when custom gun smiths started making their own name brand builds and added the guide rod to make their product stand out.

With that said, if the gun came with a guide rod then use it. However, if you have the chance to build a custom 1911 from the ground up. With say a Fusion build, then leave the guide rod out.

Ok... Seriously... WTF is up with the pink pistols?

If you think that is odd, google pink AR-15.

I consider this to be one of the first signs of the Apocalypse. As for the pink pistols. I'd make a rule that if anyone is seen with one, they should be executed with their own pink pistol.

Just got my C&C permit this week. It's a very strange feeling being able to walk down the street wearing a gun...

Anyone else carry?

Yes, I have carried for years. I had a C&C but then my state canned the C&C program for citizens. I still carried....I still do. Always will (when I am in the States!)

Stupid Question Alert! If someone gets a CC permit, can they carry more than one gun at the same time?

Yes for my state. But check your state laws, they may have something in there about it. I do not know of any states off the top of my head who have a 1 gun rule for CC. But I do remember reading about a state that does. I remember a member of a gun forum complaining about not being able to carry a BUG with him.

I can open carry multiple guns as well.

So I just submitted my application for a hand gun permit today. Hope I get approved! I've got my eye on the Glock 21C. Can't wait to get it!

I know you didn't ask for my opinion but I would completely stay away from the C series of Glocks. I promise you are man enough to shoot an un-compensated pistol. Have you fired a C vs a non-C pistol yet?

Your opinion is always welcome. I have not fired a C model, but I've heard good things about them. Only pistol I've fired is a RIA 1911. I'm not "100% dead-set" on the 21C, but I'm strongly leaning towards it. I'm also looking at the Glock 38, the compact .45 GAP.

I have the paper work in the car, I just need to go downtown to get fingerprinted. I have had it for almost a year now. Just been lazy. Plus my neighborhood is way worse than anywhere I go out in town. Anyway heres my piece:

Springfield XD 40, I shot both the glock and the springfield before I made my purchase, the XD was so much more comfortable to hold for long periods, and they have all the durability and aftermarket support of the glock. The holster is the best IWB holster I have found, it's a Crossbreed Supertuck. Amazing holster.

Now here is my home defense piece:

Mossberg pistol grip 12 gauge. 00 buckshot. Definitely stops anything in it's path. The home is secure to say the least. Also about to do an AR build. Happy shooting!

This dude gives an excellent review for the G21C. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnFOMhwLoDQ

If you are using it at night for self protection, it can blind you from the flash of the muzzle if you are a good shooter who has trained to not flinch while shooting. It gets your night sights pretty dirty and having a "C" model only prevents nominal kickback. I prefer the XD to the Glock but you cannot go wrong with either.

I'd stay away with 45GAP ammo if you can prevent it because its expensive, can't be found as readily as regular 45ACP ammo and it might not always be in production, unlike 45ACP which has been in production and sold regularly for almost a hundred years.

Man, I love guns.

Check out www.budsgunshop.com for good deals or www.cdnninvestments.com for excellent deals on used Glocks.

Hence the up and coming AR build. Gonna secure me a lower probably this month from CMMG and slowly build it. Want to build a new computer, buy a 40" LCD and build an AR. Ambitious few months.

.

I was actually contemplating that, the flash blinding me at night. I concluded that I'd get a Lone Wolf or Storm Lake replacement barrel (non compensated, of course) and put it in when I'm not at the range so that if I actually have to use the gun in self defense and/or at night the flash wouldn't be an issue. Funny that you mention that video. That particular video was what turned me on to the 21C. Man, I can't wait to get my gun.

Edit: I just checked out those two websites. I really like what I see at http://www.budsgunshop.com

I don't yet. Been lazy getting around to it. But with a baby on the way, my arsenal will start growing. Getting a couple handguns and gunsafe over Christmas.

I saw this the other day and I don't know what to say except: 1.) His accent makes me laugh. and 2.) I'd rather shoot someone with hollow-points than a bullet that leaves two exit wounds. I guess that's just me, though. Oh, I don't really know where else to post this so I just decided that this thread was suitable.

So my wife and I are getting our CHL (Concealed Handgun License, that's what it's called here in Texas) after the baby is born.

Looking at Kel-Tec 380 for the misses and this bad boy lays on my night stand until it can legally ride my belt.

Springfield Armory XDm .40 - 16 Round Mag.

Just got 2 Free mags and holster w/ case from SA, 4 Mags 2 - FMJ, 2 - HP.
