chinamon
QUOTE (hookah hippie @ Oct 23 2007, 08:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>That is a valid point JDAnyone willing to destroy a $25 hose to see if its washable? As for the mya statements I will say I bought a MYA Vortex for $140 and sold it the next day for $125 my other hookah was betterwith the nammor i dont think you need to destroy it to find out if it is washable. you can practically disassemble the whole thing for cleaning and can inspect it then.you dont have to disassemble a mya hose to see the rust either. i picked up the hose and blew in to one end. enough rust dust came out the other end to cover 50% of my forearm. that scared the shit outta me. If you leave them hooked up to the hookah, then the evaporating water just destroys the hose

Hobocans
Hoses I think are just one of those things you are just going to have to replace periodically. Even if the metal used on the heads was stainless, this would be over building them. The interior is just a plastic material (this gives it the washable nature and doesn't rust out the interior metal wire), which can rip or can be stained. The Mya closoinne hoses are the only ones that I've had that last over a year.Maybe if they used the Nammour garden hose and then built them out of stainless this could be a hose that would last a long time. But hoses break on there own anyways, I'd rather have a $10 hose that I have to replace than a $25+ hose that will maybe last over a year.

My best friend has the gyro and I love it. But you can't tell me thats a better pipe than The KM HAFA. I own 2 KM's and love them to death. They are IMO the best hookahs on the market. So you're saying that because (in your opinion), KM makes a better pipe than MYA, MYA is "overrated crap?"Hmm...Not really......did you not read what I said? I like some Mya's....QT, vortex, gyro. But in no way is the company better than KM. KM stands for quality and not looking just to make bucks off cheap crap.Actually, I did. You said QUOTE Maybe you like Mya's hookahs, but I personally think all they offer is crap. Im so sick of hearing about them. Mya is a very over rated brand in all aspects, not just hoses IMO. MechAnt
We all know that MYA hoses are not washable so lets all get over it instead of bitching about it. It's obviously something MYA is not working on (and from the looks of it, ever will) but they still make decent hoses that just need to be replaced on a regular basis like most other hoses. Like someone mentioned before, it's not like we are paying a ridiculous amount of money for them, just 7-10 bucks. As for the MYA bashing by calling it "overrated crap", there are some of us here that own and LOVE mya pipes. Some shopping around will find you a mya pipe for the price at which it should be. When you buy one, it is a machine built pipe that has interchangeable pieces and is 99% guaranteed it'll be just right. Hand made pipes have the authentic feel however, they have imperfections that have noobs crying and even veterans complaining. From the tilt to the wobbly bases. Each type of pipe has its pros and cons so lets respect each other and what we love. Edited October 24, 2007 by MechAnt
