Idea for a cooler smoke..

Recommended Posts

well first off, let me start off by saying that ive'd visited this forum plenty of times searching for ideas, tips, etc. and its great and now i just thought of a random idea, quite odd actually, and i thought why not share it! well my idea first came up cuz i was using my hookah yesterday with some friends and i would put ice in the base but it wud eventually melt and then i remembered when i was at my little cousins birthday, (his parents rented an ice cream pusher thingy that carries ice cream) and i was playing with some dry ice and i put a big piece in a cup of hot water. the next thing u know, the water is COLD! so i was thinking, what kind of affect would happen if you were to put small pieces of dry ice in your base for a cooler smoke. CAUTION! i put a a lot of small pieces of dry ice in a water bottle and shook it, and slowly unscrewed the cap and the bottle blew up and made a loud blow!
well please share your opinions/ideas...i apologize if this has been discussed earlier! ive already searched for it and didnt find anything! thanks again!

Yeah remember that dry ice is frozen CO2!
Putting it in water will create the mist and it will bubble violently with CO2.

All in all, putting dry ice in your base water is a BAD IDEA since you're inhaling it!
I suppose you could put it in initially, let it evaporate, then blow
the remaining gas out the valve, but then your base water would only be
cold for a limited amount of time. Dry ice in the ice bowl on your STEM
(if you have one of these hookahs) seems like a MUCH better idea!

Also, avoid putting dry ice in sealed containers. The gas will expand,
and you'll have more than a loud pop! I won't go into college antics
regarding dry ice, but it's dangerous stuff if handled the wrong way
even if by accident.
