How Do You Set Up/smoke Your Smiley Bowl?

First day with smiley's glass bowl/screen and it just seems too deep. all the tobacco doesnt burn. How many coals/what arrangement do you use? 30 for 40 mm coals? lightly packed/tightly packed tobacco?
not sure if this has been posted befrore, i tried searching, but pretty much every thread has 'smiley' and 'bowl' in it, hehe.

Smiley bowls are deep and most of the time its virtually impossible to smoke it all. Just pack it similarly to any other bowl.

mech has it right. And using the glass screen is a pain. It sits on the tobacco, which is ok until you have to ash it, then you went up pushing the ash onto the tobacco around the edges or through the big hole in the center. When i use my smiley's i just use tin foil instead of the glass.

I use the tulip bowl and I love it because there really is no messing up. Put tobacco in bowl. set screen on nubs that hold it. light coal. smoke.

i don't see why packing a smiley bowl would be different from a normal, if its bigger, just pack more shisha into it... or am I way off base here?

I use both, and since I only use them for single person smoking, I dont fill up the bowls to the brim. Also, I dont pack the shisha flat, I make it really loose. FOr the tulip, I stick my figure in the middle of it to kind of pack the shisha to the sides. I find when i do this to the tulip, all of the shisha gets used up more evenly.
