I have a big assed Spider that lives in my house.

He's more than welcome. He eats lots of flies and has a nice little cobweb in the corner of my living room.

I bloody refuse to kill him! Yet Mrs JD and my daughters want him gone.

We live in the country FFS. Spiders and shit are just par-for-the-course.

And damn it - he kills flies!

So. Should he stay or go?

I made my brother pin down a wolf spider with his fingers for 2 bucks, those things are hideous. One time i was drunk and was hiking up above the H rock, and this fucking gigantic turantula just appears out of nowhere and it scared the fuck outta me.

But your in the UK, umm, save it?

Bugs and various sundry creatures are part of living in the boonies. Spiders aren'ttoo bad, at least your chances of catching plague, or rabies is non-existent. Give it a name, and see how long it takes for someone else to toast the little guy. (maybe get a good pillow for the upcoming night you are going to spend on the sofa if you take this fine advice)

*shudders* Yeah, take him outside... far far away from the house.

Zen, my sister kept a pet wolf spider as a pet for a few months (YES they're hideous!) and it got out once... must've jumped 3 feet in the air and made it down the stairs in 4 seconds when I found the sucker. She fed it a butterfly and it died finally biggrin.gif

I say move it outside but feed it daily. Had a buddy that did this and the damn spider was probably twice the size it should have been. A meal a day makes them quite happy. Finally killed it though as it was starting to freak the people out.

just say you got rid of it, then pretend you dont see it whenever they bring it up. try to convince them the spiders ghost is haunting the corner because they had it unjustly killed. Edited by camelflage

As a PET!!!!!!!!
Oh my God.....Those things are the most hideous of God's Creations. smile.gif . If i owned a gun i would only use it to shoot wolf spiders. They are so hairy.... and so HUGE..... (that's what she said), and i'm afraid that they will eat me while i'm asleep. Them and the Hobo Spiders..... ewwwwwwww. unsure.gif

They are actually quite common around here, in teh desert, and now since it's ski season, the spiders come into the house cause it's warm....now it's like a Spider Commonwealth up in here.

I say keep it.

Compare the following :

House full of flies that you have to kill yourself.

or

House with one spider that kills all the flies.

We all know which one she'll pick. That's right #2 cool.gif Edited by Dekon

All part of the charm of living in the country i'm afraid.

And it's not like i have a lot of flies. But the flies we do have are not like this pussy-town-flies. These fuckers move like jet planes and can spot a can of raid from about 10meters tongue.gif

I suppose i could ask the farmer next door to move his cows rolleyes.gif

As long as its chillin in its web Id say keep it. My friend had a pretty big sized white spider in a web on his deck and we caught 2 moths and threw them into the web. It was like the animal planet right in front of my eyes. The thing jumped on them and killed em, then wrapped em up and started sucking their insides. It was pretty sweet. We went back 3 weeks later and the thing was HUGE, one of the biggest spiders id ever seen. So we fed him another moth. tongue.gif
