thegreengoblin707
I ordered this hookah. It is VERY functional and smokes as well as any hookah. To get something more expensive than this, you are paying for looks / brand advertisement rather than functionality. It looks good too and it is pretty tall. The stem is very sturdy and will last a long time. The hookah overall is well made. Only two reservations: base is made of regular glass which can be fragile; like many hookahs, it is not factory made so the materials can be from any random scraps (gas pipes in one extreme case). Inside of the stem looks shady but I cleaned it with the brush so it looks better. Order Japanese coals. I have these but this also gets similar reviews in the review forum. These coals are so much better than 3 Kings! They don't burn as hot so heat is easier to manage. I have to move the coal around less and the shisha doesn't burn out so quickly. I smoke outside w/o windcover and a single piece of 3, quarter squares coals on my standard Egyptian bowl (15g) filled with Nakhla Strawberry (my favorite!) will last me for 45 minutes of thick clouds of smooth smoke.Anyway, 50 (hookah) + 7 (coals) + 7 (shipping) + free 250g Nakhla (call in for your favorite flavor) = 64 and (15% off forum discount - 5% tax) ~ 60! For 60 dollars you get an EXCELLENT HOOKAH, EXCELLENT coal, and EXCELLENT shisha. That's a great value! Highly recommend. It kills me to see people spend $100 on hookahs that look inauthentic and don't smoke any better. My favorite vendor is Hookah Company. Largest selection, great customer service, reliable. Get a PLASTIC washable hose. Once again, I care for functionality. I don't care if some hose looks fancy but rusts in 2 months and then rust & tar pile into my precious lungs. Stay away from Mya "washable" hose as it is NOT washable. I don't have any affiliations... and will update when next order arrives.... I want to see a photo, know the material before ordering. Last time I checked the site - I don't remember seeing either. Thanks a lot!
ZenSilk
Ohh it's there now, i'm buying one on friday. The material is vinyl / plastic so it'll definitely NOT rust (unlike other hoses, some designed to be washable). For $9 - that looks like an excellent deal. I'll have to try it myself and share my experience. Thank you!Btw...to newbies...one thing about Japanese coals is that the burning quality / smoothness of smoke is easier / SUPERIOR than quick lites - but you will need a stove to heat for 2-3 minutes. After that - you are good for the next hour - no need to re-light coals or refresh after a short while. Japanese coals will burn excellent for a solid 45 minutes (more or less). I call this convenient and these are IMO safer than quicklites because they aren't quicklites (lol) and thus don't have FUMES of starting chemicals! Stay away from Rolland or substitutes other than the one on Hookah Company - I'll try the substitue in my next order).Any questions etc are welcome. Hookah Company has great service IMO - never mind the delays due to horrible wildfires. Edited October 26, 2007 by thegreengoblin707
ZenSilk
Yeah, your right, when you get the hang of the not-as-strong heat of Jap coals, and aren't too lazy to light em up, they are awesome. And they snap off to perfect sizes. If i get my hose before you i'll give you a detailed description.

In case you (or anyone else esp. guys new to this) are ordering a hookah with a glass vase - request extra attention to the packaging. Tell them that even happy customers warned that the vase came shattered in bits and pieces via FedEx. Hookah Company will replace a broken vase hassle free - but why have the delay? Tell them to add extra thick layers of bubble wrap on the stem and especially the vase, keep package snug without moving components, and keep the glass vase separated from the rest. Definitely do NOT put the stem in the glass vase (MAY have been the case with my package but couldn't tell as it was dangerous to examine a package with shattered glass). If you get a washable hose (an ABSOLUTE must to avoid unnecessary tar / gunk in lungs) - get one that is made of plastic or vinyl - anything else - good chance it isn't so washable. I didn't see any hose made of plastic / vinyl at hookah company. Enjoy your order! Edited October 26, 2007 by thegreengoblin707
lemmiwinks
If anyone is looking for a good hookah with more than one hose, I just got the small three hose egyptian hookah from social smoke and I'd highly recommend it. Nice hookah, comes with a bunch of extrq freebies and I think my total came out to like $75 after the discount, a couple extra shisha sample packs and some extra coals.
