Auto Seal Hoses

Recommended Posts

grrrr. nbody is on this late, will have to wait a few hours befor i get my answer...

I once again searched the forums and couldn't find anything,

I heard a friend talking about hoses with ball bearings in them, so that if your hookah doesnt auto-seal, the hose does. anyone heard of theese? if so where can I find them?

also i remember HS had some flip-cap hoses on their site, but they mysteriously dissapeared. anyone know anything about these?

I really hate thumbing, and would like some auto-seal action.

uhmmm depends if the hose you are on is auto seal. if it is,you cant blow anything out. with auto seal you are blowing your ballbearing into the hole

I knew i was forgetting something!

Nevermind.

I like thumbing (lol)... makes you pay attention and talk to the people you're smoking with.

The hose doesnt contain auto-seal. The hose ports do. You have an Egytpian from H-S, so i don't think it would be very easy to mod it into an Auto-Seal. I have seen hose-caps around somewhere, i don't remember which site though...

Seems like a pain waiting to happen if you ask me. One more thing to get junked up.

Hey, have you all noticed that people tend to forget about propper hose care with their hookahs? It is driving me crazy! Every time I smoke with a new group and try out somebody's hookah their hoses are ALWAYS dirty as hell. Oh sure they clean out their hookah after every use, use some lemon juice every couple of months, but they never blow out their freaking hoses at the end of the session. What's the point of having a clean hookah and a crap hose?

Sorry for the rant but it just popped into my head laugh.gif

like i pointed out earlier..i was able to establish a successful autoseal 3 hose hookah. since i had a weird ass stem where the hose attachments where absent only the screw treads where present. so to that effect, i was able to by the hose converters, place some barrings, and then boom perfect block and fully functional. seems simple, but finding one of the hookahs i have is like...impossible.

Hate to be a noob, but what does auto seal mean. OK, I know the name is self explanatory but I want to be discrete. If a hookah has auto seal - it seals the connection to the hose. If a hose has auto seal - it seals itself. Does my hookah have that feature? It doesn't have ball bearings on the hose ports but I've used ones that do and I notice little difference in the smoking.

So what do you do with a hose that doesn’t have auto-seal? Masking tape? Isn’t auto seal supposed to be found in most hookahs as it sounds standard? Or is it just something that adds an extra tight seal not necessary but helpful. Thanks. Edited by thegreengoblin707

Auto-Seal is basically a ball inside a hose adapter. It's kept in there with a screw and you can only suck air out, if you try to blow it won't let you because the bearing is blocking the hole. Your hookah does not have the auto-seal feature, and the only ball bearing you have on there i believe is in the purge valve.
