I've heard of this idea before. if your gonna put iced coffee in your hookah, i suggest getting a nutral flavor such as vanilla, maybe choclate or a mild raspberry, don't do anything super fruity. maybe get some cappuccino flavored shisha. try some stuff out and get back to us.

There was one place in Cairo, Tornado's, that would do this. It was the best shisha I had in egypt.

I recommend Nakhla Cappucino, and then either fill the whole vase with cold coffee or half water/half coffee.

It produces really thick smoke and smells really nice.

Al Fakher Cappuccino + strong coffee and ice in base = pure bliss.

I use coffee in my vase nearly as often as I use water. Mix it up with different blends, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, etc.

For extra chill and filtration you can fill an ice cube tray with coffee and toss some ice-coffee-cubes in.

Red wine is a great option also, but it can get expensive.

I can imagine this working well if you are smoking either cappuccino or Coffee Or chocolate Flavor. It would probably not be bad if you are smoking mint shisha.

Alright
I tried it.

It was pretty unremarkable
except the smoke tasted more earthy and watery.
Then I had this awesome coffee aftertaste in my mouth.
It's better than water.
But not as good as coconut milk.

Make sure you brew your coffee extra strong to offset the dilution from the ice cubes. The quality of the coffee matters a good deal... using instant coffee or old grounds makes the smoke far worse (bitter, stale tasting) than it would be with just water in the base.
