Starbuzz Apple, Funnel + Scalli Mod Just Ordered

Recommended Posts

Just bit the bullet and placed my first international order. Being a UK resident, we are very limited to what shisha we can buy.

I am relatively new to Hookah smoking, but I am hooked already! I have been smoking mainly Al Fakher from my 26" Egyptian pipe. Regarding flavours, I have had mixed results. I found double apple and mint disgusting, Cherry was like medicine, grape had that meat undertone people speak of, but I really enjoyed melon and my favorite is plum. Being as I have nearly tried all of the AF floavours available to me I decided to place an order for some Starbuzz from the USA. I also decided to order the funnel bowl and scalli mod too.

My question is, is Starbuzz going to impress me and will the new bowl and mod improve my smoke generally in terms of flavour and length of smoke? Currently, I only seem to get 30 mins of nice thick flavoursome, smooth smoke. It then starts to become thinner and more harsh, lasting for another 30 mins or so.

I have also ordered some natural coals to replace the instant ones I have been using so far.

If you do it right you should get a long session with delicious flavor; but I don't know how you are with heat management.

I have a small funnel from hookahcompany.com and I have found it to be a very good bowl. I don't use a mod though, so... I don't know about that. And I don't smoke starbuzz so I can't speak to that either.

Sounds like you've got a nice order coming though, so enjoy it!

Re heat mangement, I believe I have been doing ok. As I say, I have been using the instant light discs. I usually use two of these on the edge of the bowl and rotate them every 10 mins or so. I think that the smoke has been turning hash after 30 mins because a lot of the shish juice is running out of the bowl and innto the stem and on to the tray. Hence why I have bought the funnel bowl. I am hoping retaining the juices will extent the smoking time and flavour.

Yea i have a phunnel with mod but have yet to try the starbuzz in it. I'v smoked tangiers, layalina, and i think some al fakher with some great results (Long sessions, good smoke). What kind of natural coals did you get? I got some free starbuzz ones from my friend and there the worst things ever...

have you been smokiing the black grape?
cuz i think that most people will agree that the white grape is probably their signature flavor.

No it is def the white grape, but it did have a weird meaty flavour to it at times!

hey Blueorb.

Another UK brother smile.gif

Invest in a funnel bowl. They are excellent for most tobacco's. And where did you order from?

JD

I ordered from MN Hookah, strangly enough after reading many of your posts. I thought I would try a small order first to make sure things get through ok. What is the maximum quantity of shisha you have ordered in one go?

Are the funnel bowls a big improvement over the standerd bowls then??

Coals ordered are these:

http://www.theshishashop.com/shop/abo-alab...69c1ac5ab295c5f

They have the same packet desighn as some other coals that folks on here swear by (Can't remember the name) But these are called something different. If they are no good, I will return to quicklights.

The boys at mn will look after you smile.gif

The max i have ever ordered in one go is 950g's of tobacco. 3xboxes of layalina and 2x100g's of fumari.

I try and keep it to only 500g-750g's though.

If you work out the prices and conversion including shipping it works out about the same as buying nahkla.

But of course we can't buy all those lovely tobacco's they have in america!

NO FCKN' WAY!!!
Wow... that sucks...

But why do you guys have less choice of tobaccos?

Who can say? Probably because of the tax that is levied on tobacco products in the uk [The same applies to canada I believe]

Also hookah is no where near as popular in the uk.

So we take the chance, order from 'friendly' companies and run the customs gauntlet.

Even with the shipping costs it works out the same. Let me lay it out for you :-

Old Dry Crappy Nahkla=£13 [$26]per 250g's [Average]
Internal Shipping =£5 [$10]
Total = £18 [$36]

Nice yummy Layalina = £5 [$10]
International Shipping = £11 [$22]
Total = £16 [$32]

And remember. we can only get Nahkla, al waha & al fakhir. And most of it allways appears to be older crap.

And the more you order the cheaper shipping gets remember also biggrin.gif
