Gaara
There's a birthday thread that Johnny D started for me but just had the best day that I still cannot get over actually happened! My car was stolen when I went to a friends house in NW DC and I reported it stolen about 2 months ago. The cops didn't have much of a lead and my hopes died down after they failed to track down this guy that they suspect might have stolen it. But before I left for my morning classes, I got a call from DC police saying that they cooperated with Virginia Police to find my car in Fairfax, VA. Apparently, it was stolen by a 22 year old hispanic male and they identified my car when he was pulled over for the braking lights (the left side doesn't work; thank God I didn't fix it as I planned). They arrested him and filed criminal charges. The police automatically towed my car to a city near when I live (Takoma Park) and had to pay $150 to pick it up earlier this afternoon before classes which sucks, but it's nothing compared to getting my car back. I left to my afternoon classes elated and when I came back I received a letter from my school telling me that I got accepted to the competitive business school which I doubted I'd get into. It was a massively stressful for me so it came as huge relief! Thrilled, my family and few close friends threw me a little birthday party at my home which was relaxing after the weekend I had with my other friends. Happy about my furtunes, I was hanging out with the fam. when I received a call around 7pm from this financial consulting firm to tell me that I got accepted into an internship that I've been dying to get into. They want me to start Tuesday! The highlight of my day however was when my mother told me that she's healthy a couple of hours ago. She had to do a couple of breast exams and mammograms because the doctors feared that she might have breast cancer since the results weren't entirely normal. It's been a worrying couple of weeks but the doctor told her that it was just a false alarm and she is perfectly fine. She also visited another doctor to verify and the final results came out the same. I'm still in shock that all of this can happen to me in one day. Especially on my birthday! Can't be thankful enough for my blessings though. Maybe I should have played the lottery?
