Well, Europeans brought those crazy traditions - and all the witch-hunts - don't tell me nothing ever went on in Europe! smile.gif
Common guys - be someone!
I know JD will be a Jedi for sure! He he he!
And Geiseric will wear a beard and be this cool Darwinian Pirate! He he! Edited by GolovA

Ugh. Darwin. Gross. Never. I have no interest in arguing origins, or supporting that global flame war.

*Edit*
JD: Yes. Excellent plan.
My window is above the door, so when I get back, if anyone over 12 knocks on my goddamn door, I am throwing burning coals down at their heads. Edited by Geiseric

Well, then Marxian Pirate! How's that?!
Well Marx and Darwin look bloody similar. I wonder if they were brothers... from different mothers! smile.gif) Edited by GolovA

Travesty. Keep in mind that when he said religion was the opiate of the masses, he could have meant a great many things, and that statement is still debated to this day. What I believe aside, I do believe he meant that while it is not positive, it is necessary. People without hope stop driving the engine of society.

As to similarity... Marx was a political economist. Darwin was a theorist. I fail to see the similarity.

BTW I off topic'd your thread.

Feel free to off-topic as much as you want. This is MY post - let them just try and bug me again about that whole off-topic nonsense.
I agree about religion as a necessity. People without hope cannot and do not function. It is a very weird and unique quality of man to remain overly optimistic and producing while realizing his imminent futility in the face of unavoidable death. If people do not trust in God (or let's say - don't fall prey to religion sects) they must have a philosophy of life. If they have neither - it's a sure road to suicide.
So, to make our friends happy wink.gif , in conclusion i will say this:
How about you be a buzzing bee, Geiseric, for the Halloween? Edited by GolovA

I live far enough away from society that no one ever shows up, Or maybe it's my pack of insane dogs that scare them all off... in any case, I am just going to be me... and that should be enough to scare even myself.

I love it when people bring up the witch trials. Its such a good opportunity to show how relative criminality and punishment are. But... I'll leave that for some other day. I'll work my negative energies out by smoking the Al Fahker strawberry that should be there when I get home.

Sorry to ruin the PooPoo mood of this thread. I love Halloween, there is no better holiday in my opinion. Any day where you can dress up as someone other than yourself going out to have a good time with chicks that are 9/10 times dressed as hookers? PERFECT! Plus, scaring little kids is just too much fun! The further they run away, the more candy is left over for yours truly!
