drfefe2
I left my mini pumpkin hookah sitting out with water in the base for like 2.5 weeks and when i finally got around to emptying it, there were gooey white lumps in the water and it smelled really wierd. THe smell was a little like alchohol but not as alchoholey. What is that all about? the last thing I have ever smoked in it was romman fruit Punch with ice cubes in the base. -Jackson (the grossed out) Agar

MechAnt
Go buy a new hookah! That's really dirty and you're gonna need an anti-mold to truly get rid of that.
Dekon
Dip that in acid, i'm sure it will destroy the mold....... and possibly your hookah aswell.. . Edited November 2, 2007 by Dekon

[LB]
QUOTE (Dr. Atkins @ Nov 2 2007, 12:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Bleachill second that. I use bleach to get rid of the gunk in my hookahs. Mix it with water and do the same of the vase. Inhaling any sort of mold is really bad for your health (and doesent taste too good either)
MechAnt
Bleach = no good. Bleach oxidizes steel, stainless or not. Don't do it.
Stealth
Ive seen that before, yea, its probably mold or something. Just clean it regularly, unless its something different than i imagine. Normal dishwasher soap will suffice.
ghostofdavid
If it is a pumpkin, just throw it away/recycle it and buy another hookah.

olooko
Wash the base with bleach. Let it soak in the stuff. You stem soak in a rubbing alcohol, and don't forget to clean out your hose.

I tried lemons but i found out they were rotten and made my stem smell like ass. We have no "real" cleaning products, unless you count industrial chemical cleaning fluids with ammonia "real". I was thinking about buying a cleaning solution made for hookahs on my next order.

I used both bottles and only "cleaning" supplies i have are Lysol and Mr. Clean. I have lemony soap but it just doesn't do the trick and since i don't have a wire brush i can't scrub like hell (i only have a stupid rod). Dr. Atkins
Diluted bleach (1 part to 4 parts water or thereabouts) should kill the mold/bacteria without being corrosive. Of course, you have to rinse thoroughly, though... and I would only soak it for 5 mins or so. Unfortunately, it won't deodorize it much, but a thorough scrub with baking soda afterwards should help a lot.

Maybe when you blow into the hose to clear the base of smoke, they come off your tonsels and get all up in your stem.
