OMGWTFBBQ
Or am I using too much shisha? I usually fill it to the rim but even when I don't put as much as I usually do..some shisha still sticks to the foil.I personally think my bowl is a little shallow making me want to fill it more? lemmiwinks
I don't know for sure if it matters but it happens to me all the time.
olooko
There are two ways. One is under packing the bowl this ensures that the foil and shisha don't touch. However it requries more heat to smoke and the bowl doesn't last as long as it could. The other is to fill it to the brim and themsome to ensure good heat transfer from the coals to the foil. The problem with the contact is that you have to have the right density of shisha or it will be harsh. For most brands of shisha I use the underpacking method with lots of little holes.Only for tangeries that i use the overpacking and lots of big hole method it is the only way to smoke it.The trade off is under packing, the bowl doesn't last as long. But you use less shisha.Over packing, the bowl usually last longer, but you use more shisha.I have notice during underpacking that the shisha comes in contact is when I'm poking the holes, the shisha sticks to the probe and it brings it up to the foil. When it happens the coals burn the shisha and the smoke is harsh.I hope this helps.P.S. Can't sleep,
Estariol
Not usually a problem unless it gets really harsh - in that case take off foil and use the hole poker of your tongs to rearrange it and pack it down.Try to avoid it sticking if you can though. Just put less in or pack it down a bit more.

HMT
Another trick i learned over the years is after making the holes in the foil, take the bowl and shake it really well. that evens out the shisha and unsticks it from the foil. works like a charm every time.
