Fubar37
Im buying another hookah next tuesday and i was wondering.....is it worth spending a little more money on a mya hookah? will i notice a difference between a good mya and just some other hookah?its for a friends birthday
waterboi
well it all depends on what you are comparing it to. You will get mixed answers for this question. Some people love MYA and others don't really care for them. It is all in you own preference. I own two Mya's and really like them and they smoke very well. I own a Bambino and Vortex. I am very happy with mine but others say that the glass is cheap or very fragile. I all depends on which MYA you are looking at.
ZenSilk
No. Don't spend ANY "Extra" money on a Mya. It's stainless steel and will sooner or later rust. They look great, smoke great, but their glass is weak. if you need ot get a Mya, i prefer an Acrylic. But honestly i'd go with an Egyptian or Syrian from JandRhookah, piratehookahs, or HookahCompany. poopooshaboo
There are lots of good types of hookahs; MYAs are just one of them. Some people have been reporting thin glass on some of the MYA bases, but beyond that for the most part they are some of the better pieces you can buy. Other brands to look at are Khalil Mamoun and Al Fakher if you are looking for an Egyptian style, and also various sites stock Syrian hookahs which are supposed to be quite good. It all really depends on what style you are looking for.
Dekon
I own a QT, and at first i thought it was a little too big for a personal hookah, but it's grown on me and i love it to death. I have been careful when taking off the stem after a session because of the previous glass shattering mishaps that's happened on these forums (as should you if you decide on a QT). But for me it's all up to looks.

chrisrbts
if you are looking for something inexpensive i am pretty sure hookahcompany is currently selling the mya mini acrylic on sale with a cage a box of coals and 2 small boxes of layalina shisha onsale for like 40 bucks. I will look for the link and post it. For the price its a great deal and i just got mine and it smokes great.http://www.hookahcompany.com/pristine_hook...k_2478_prd1.htm Edited November 3, 2007 by chrisrbts
RayVer
Well as a Mya Gyro owner I can tell you that model does not have the thin glass everyone seems to talk about. It's actually rather thick Edited November 3, 2007 by RayVer
Zildjian
by rather thick, we mean that you could easily, without a doubt in my mind club someone to death with that base. it is a TANK
