mdl
Nah, they don't ask for ID. If your parents receive the package won't they see that it says HOOKAH right on the box?

JillyIsJustKidding
Thanks for the feedback everyone So they just drop it off and that's it? No signing or anything?
lemmiwinks
Yeah... There's no reason a mail carrier would check your ID... They're not the one's selling you the hookah, their job is to deliver a package. You might have to sign for the package...because that's what mail carriers do...but honestly they don't even make you sign half the time. In my neighborhood they drop off the box ring the doorbell and book it.
JillyIsJustKidding
Hopefully they don't need signatures Maybe they only sign when it goes over a certain price range? Cuz that's what happened when I got my Mac laptop delivered...
thegreengoblin707
It is important to know what courier you're using. If it is USPS, I'm not sure if you can give specific directions. With USPS or FedEx or DHL - you can ask for the option of picking it up at a nearby hub. If you don't drive, then call up the courier and give them specific instructions to leave it at the front door as you'll likely not be home for the day. For a box, FedEx (hookah company) will always just leave it near my garage without even knocking. Same with UPS. With USPS - there is variability even across towns next door. They make you sign only if the service itself has it as standard feature (e.g. registered mail) and you can look up your service online to see if that is the case. They also make you sign it if the sender pays the small fee to request signature upon delivery. Easiest way to know rather than take chances, is to find out your service, contact the courier, provide the tracking number if you have one, and ask these questions and then give specific instructions.
