Katmew
I heard that it's not okay to wash your hoses out because there is metal inside so it will rust and give off a funky taste. Is that true? And if it is I heard that Lemon Juice is good.Help me out before I break something O.o!

Dekon
No need to be fiesty. Just a simple slush of warm water will help your hose. Only wash it if it says washable. If it isn't washable then throw it away and buy a washable one .
lemmiwinks
Are you saying it's OK to run a little warm water through it even if it's not washable? Or were you referring to the "slush of warm water" as washing?
Katmew
But doesn't warm water = rust? The one I ordered from Nazar Hookah is not a washable hose and just so I'm not doing it wrong and so nothing rusts, I clean my hose with lemon juice? And if so should I wash it out until the weird looking color goes away?
oolatec
If it's not a washable hose, do NOT run any liquid through it. To "clean" it, just blow it out after every use.
Katmew
But wont it leave an after taste?
Dekon
All i do is run some water through it slush it up blow through it and let it hang on my towel rack so the extra water can drip out. I don't notice any taste from my previous sessions.

Or were you referring to the "slush of warm water" as washing?Sorry if you think my post is so confusing. But you SHOULDN'T wash non-washable hoses (It will ruin it). Now by "slush" i do mean washing. Once again sorry for the confusion.
Katmew
So all in all you just leave your non-washable hose alone? No lemon Juice/water no nothing?
kitefanatic
You got it. When it starts to go nasty, just toss it, or chop it up for a DIY hose mod.
Mahir
Agreed.Do not wash an unwashable hose...It would just last soooo much longer that way.-Mahir Nazar Hookah
ZenSilk
Has anyone ever shaken salt around in their leather hose? It's a pretty effective mild abrasive in regards to cleaning, maybe it would get all the crust out? Not the flavor of course, but the crust. hookahlife
Hey Guys, I've never seemed to have a problem running some gentle water through any hose I've had (minus cobra hoses, which have cardboard material at the ends that don't usually mix too well with water). My technique is pretty simple...1. Run some water through the hose for a few seconds2. Blow out through one end to get the majority of the water out3. Twirl the hose to force the remaining droplets out, and finally4. Hang the hoseThis technique has worked with almost all the hoses I have ever tried. Hope this helps clarify some potential questions. -EugeneHookah Lifeeslobode@hookah-life.com www.hookah-life.com 847-403-1213
