Broken Stem Quick Solution. (ghetto Fabrication)

I broke the stem on one of my hookahs the other day, the part where it screwed in just rended from the rest of the stem and voila, a broken hookah. My solution:

Need (Pen tube [I used an RSVP by Pentel])
Paintball O-rings
Gorilla Glue or Hot glue (not neccecary but helpful)
Tape

Alright, first, take the pen tube and cut off both ends with a knife so that it fits your hookah. Then wrap it with tape so that it fits snugly into the stem ( the part thats outside the hookah ). Now insert the pen into the hookah. Place an o-ring on the stem (not the pen) and use that to seal up any gaps. Apply gorilla glue or hot glue (optional, I didnt have any but it would help.)
Tape around the stem to make it straight by taping it to the top of the big stem.

Insert into base and enjoy.

Note, this stem is non removeable so it may hinder transportation.

this was super helpful, me and my friend were really in the mood to smoke so we had to put this together. It worked that night and has worked ever since.

great fix idea. this sounds like it would work well in an "emergency" situation

all i did to fix my hookah when the stem broke off was go to the hardware store and get a piece of brass tube slightly smaller than the original stem, just the right size to fit inside the original tube. then i just soldered it into place. works like new and is a little more permanent.
