Stew
Hey everyone, I've been looking curiously at Japanese style coals recently. The thing I've noticed is that on this site people always talk about Golden vs 3 Kings and then it gets into someone saying that natural coals are the only way. WHat I'm looking for is opinions of japanese silver-coated brick coals (whatever brand) without people saying "you should be using this quicklite disc or that natural wood coal", just what your experiences were with the japanese style coals. malignity
While I haven't personally experienced chinese charcoal, i've been told by my arabic friend that they're not very good. Don't take my word, just cause it's hearsay, but I figured if anything, it may be a bit of help. Every hookah place I've been to recommends Three Kings. Most places I go to only sell that brand because it works well with no flavor or anything like that. Hope that helps a little?
MR Bubble
bump. We need to see if there are some more takes on this. Most people don't seem to listen to my advice, so some of you other guys may be able to provide .02 for this one. MR Bubble
Stew
I read that the coals you reccomended last only about 35 minutes.. Is this true?
MR Bubble
Oh, it sounds reasonable, given how thick they are. I never really timed them but that is probably true. MR Bubble
cypress
Japanese coals arent that bad but I just as soon use Goldens. The one think I noticed is that you have to make sure that the silver crap burns off first before you use them. There was one instance I used them in a hurry and it tasted nasty as I didnt heat them up as much as they should have been.
