MechAnt
Its most likely the caffeine mixing with the nicotine that is giving you that killer buzz. Try Tangiers F-line shisha. Last time I tried it, I was running in circles while my face was numb.

I would guess it was just the Nakhla alone. It has a tendency to give a big simi truch buzz. Of course not as much as tangiers...

Zildjian
try fantasia. it gives a killer buzz and has less tobacco flavor from tangiers. i like both but tangiers is a bit too intense for me so fantasia when i want a buzz

shisha fan
zildjian is right, the other night i had my first buzz from smoking tobacco. i smoked fantasia blueberry in a medium tangiers phunnel bowl, and it was filled to the top.it was the first time ever i had a nicotine buzz, and i smoke cigarettes since i was 12. the blueberry flavor is good too and lasts for at least an hour. Cheese//
Sometimes when people have access to better stuff than Nakhla then when they do smoke it they're bolloxed from it because it has double the nicotine than most Shisha brands.I'm totally over it, though. It's mostly dry and stinks like hell after you've smoked it.But it's the most commonly available shisha in the market.Strange seeing as Nakhla doesn't actually make the shisha. They just buy and package it.Plus the agent that sells it in SA sells to very few shops.
booya
I have a new smoking regime since i've turned into a nicotine fiend... in the morning i smoke tangiers blueberry or kashmir peach (i finally got past the spicyness) for a short 20 min session, in the evening i come home and smoke a bowl of nahkla usually strawberry and after dinner its usually sometihng light like AF apricot... but i'm telling you guys that camomile made the difference, it wasn't like the regular nictine buzz from a strong tobacco it was way more intense. i suggest you try it, it will knock your sox off! Sonthert
Careful! Like most drugs, caffeine is much stronger inhaled than it is taken orally (Like in the tea form). Tangiers F-Line has about a third of a cup of coffee's worth of caffeine for a 50g bowl...use two cups of coffee (tea) worth is dangerous. You won't get that much caffeine up from the water...but you should get some. Its also likely that the alkaline tea tilted the water pH earlier (upwards) which allowed more nicotine to pass through...even if no caffeine became aerosolized. Because I don't normally use a 50g bowl, so I'm trying to imagine the intensity of caffeine being vaporized. Though I did read somewhere that a guy, by accident, inhaled a broken caffeine pill (straight solid caffeine powder basically) and passed out, having a fit similiar to an epileptic seizure. Dr. Atkins
Eric-- it was caffeine free tea, so that doesn't apply here. However, you're dead on re: the rise in potency of inhaled substances. I think it's a function both of increased delivery through the blood-brain barrier vs. oral ingestion, as well as much faster peaking. In this case, it was probably the l-theanine present in the tea. Theanine is an amino acid that is commonly known as the relaxing element in tea, but it has much broader pharmacology. I forget by what mechanism (MAO inhibition or DOP receptor agonism, probably), but it is known to increase dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain, which could definitely account for the crazy buzz. Dr. Atkins
Oh, and re: snorting caffeine... it was probably an exaggeration. Caffeine is very easy to overdose, but you won't from snorting a single pill (100-200mg). Ingesting a whole gram, on the other hand, will not make for a happy camper.Caffeine is so passe, though. Real men use tyramine or 1,3-dimethylamylamine for that much less dirty/jittery, legal speed effect.
Canon
i tried some mint tea with apple mint and blueberry, it really wasn't that good of an experience. probably because there was too much tea or something (went to water still and got the tea there, then filled the vase with it). you couldn't taste any of the flavors and it didn't give much of a buzz. next time I'm in the mood ill try putting a tea bag in the vase, any good suggestions? brands/flavors? and what flavors go good with them?
