Hey everyone-

I just wanna know how many people on here that are heavy hookah smokers can take a day off.
Im writing this paper, and feedback would be great! Ive been trying to take a day off for 3-4 days now, I don't feel addicted its just hard to describe, but Im really trying to slow down. So who here wants to plan a day just one day that we don't smoke? I know alot won't agree with this, but Id really like to try it and see if the people who agree with me kind wanna pull together and do it.

Well, when I buy bulks of shisha. I would normally smoke twice a day if not three times a day; futhermore, I feel it is an addiction. However, since yesterday I have yet to smoke and really don't feel the need to yet. I have plenty of shisha, just no "urge"...

I usually smoke once or twice a day. I dont really want my parents to know so when i go home from school for winter and summer break I go for months at a time without it. There is no urg or anything, I just dont smoke then.

I generally smoke everyday but I have no problem taking days off. I haven't smoked in ten days. Granted that my hookah needs a spare part coming tomorrow but I am able to take multiple days off and I would consider myself a heavy smoker

I've run through periods where i will smoke everyday for 2hrs straight each night.

Then taken a break of a week without thought or incident.

I often spend one night away in hotels without any substituted smoking - again with problem or parent
addiction.

I smoke with my dad whenever he comes over to my apartment. We smoked it in his car while we were at his girlfriend's parent's place last night, too, and when her dad walked by he gave us a look that said he didn't believe it had tobacco in it.

I smoke at least once a day, but i can and have taken few day breaks at a time. Whenever i'm around my hookah i want to smoke it, but when i'm away from it i really don't have the urge to smoke. I think it's all in my head, lol

i can take a break from shisha whenever i want, but i smoke cigarettes, so i'm still geting my nicotine fix...

I think the hookah is more of a mental addiction than a physical one, but I've personally never had a problem with addiction, cigars, pipes, or otherwise. I routinely go months when I'm at home not smoking, no problem.

Since I run the lounge, i tend to smoke for most of the mid-late afternoon when things are slow, then grab a puff while I can when it gets busy. I kinda look at it as a lounge owner who isn't seen smoking is like a skinny cook. U

nless We are having a gathering at my place and people ask to smoke the hookah, I tend to take sundays off with no ill effect.

i smoke once, maybe twice during the week at home cos i dnt normally feel like all the hassle and my parents dont like it. and usually once a week at a hookah bar with my friends if they feel like (and have the money ) i feel it gets kinda boring after a while on my own..nothing to do..if anyone would suggest things i could do pls tell me

usually smoke 3 times a day... its getting bad now... short sessions but still, i need the fix... i don't think i could go a day with out nicotine, i tend to smoke cigs if theres no hookah around...

heh, it got to a point not to long ago that i would bring my mya acrylic to work so i could have lunch time session! but now i just smoke cigs.... yuck... i quit for a year too

I know not all hookah places follow this rule, but I wash each hookah after every use so there is no lingering taste. Using the QT's probably makes that easier since they are small and easy to deal with, but it's all part of what i consider customer service.

Believe it or not it probably adds to the popularity.

Before the uk ban I only smoked in bars i could activily see the cleaning going on.

Sometimes the most basic things can really enhance a reputation!

i agree it's more of a mental addication for me. When my gf isn't around I want to smoke, just bc she doesn't want me to smoke. I haven't smoke for a few days now, and I'm not craving it. So i can take some time off.

i have gone three months smoking every night and have taken a month off completly.. its not hard.. i jus wouldnt do it again b/c i enjoi smoking

I wouldn't say I'm addicted to smoking hookah but nothing beats sitting down with a cold dirnk and a fresh bowl of shisha. I do it a lot but when my finances don't allow I can usually hold off. I guess I could say that I just have this feeling that something is missing when I'm sitting at home watching tv rather than being out with my friends at a hookah lounge.

Addiction is for the weak minded.

Your mind becomes addicted long before your body ever "needs" it. Teach yourself to say "No" and you will never have an issue.


I see trends in smokers though. New smokers will smoke as much as possible. You start to slow down after the newness is gone. Then you get what most people become, the 1 bowl a day or 3 bowls a week. Boredom also plays a big role. When you get bored your first answer is, I'll pack a bowl and kill time (that is if video games are not around or not feeling up to it).

lol..i think the hookahs at the bars here are cleaned like...once a week maybe. sometimes i get this really weird taste, like some water came up the pipe and it tastes horrible metally with some sweetness . they get used so much the water actually foams and turns a ligh yellow.
