New Product...built In Ice Chamber.

Recommended Posts

Someone just told me to check this out. They apparently aren't ready for mass sales yet. He said he heard they will be in full full production in a matter of weeks.

I head about this through a third party, not the poeple actually making them, for the record.

Maybe that will help me, I find that if I put too much ice in the base it it tends to clump together after 10 minutes and make it more difficult to get a good draw. Looks cool, but I wonder if the price will be comparable to other bases, or if it will have the price jacked up for the novelty factor.

Well, from what I understand the outer chamber takes water, then you put it in the freezer. Then you fill the inner section with cool water. no clumping, not actually mixing the ice and the water....could be interesting...

Reminds me of those old slushie cups you'd store in the freezer. They had some sort of liquid that would freeze. Take the cup out of the freezer, put some orange juice in it, or even a soda (I did it with Coke a lot as a kid), and it would turn the drink into a half-frozen slushie that you could eat with a spoon. smile.gif

Sounds interesting too but I would also like to see how they actually structure the thing. Why would they use water in it tho, arent there gells and things that would work better like you find in blue ice packet?

I for one stop putting ice in my hookahs. It was kinda worth it back when my fridge had an automatic ice maker but totally not worth it now that I'm using trays. The ice was usually gone in about 15 minutes, probably rose up to its normal temperature within a few more minutes. Never seemed worth it to me.

Really cool concept. I think it might take up too much space in the vase. It would be like having too much water in there and making it harder to draw up smoke. all speculation though, can't really knock it till someone tries it

Well no. The draw is only determines byt the amount of water that fills up the stem while the water is resting. The reason to have more water in a base it so that the higher volume's temperature raises at a slower rate.

I checked the site again and they are indeed using a special solution so the liquid is sealed in a compartment in a base. The only thing I would be worried about is what sort of plastic they are useing and how it handles being frozen and thawed over time.

indeed. i wouldn't want a "special solution" of freezer stuff leaking into my smoke... yikes!

This is certainly something I'd be willing to try provided that: a) it doesn't cost a bloody arm and a leg, and; cool.gif I can know what the liquid used for freezing consists of. Mushrat, have you got any idea of how long it has to be in the freezer for before it's ready?

Nice idea.

But I believe it's a universal generic adaptor that is frozen [like an ice pack] in the freezer and then placed inside your actual vase.

Hence the comment 'The SheeCool is - Compatible with all shisha shafts'

However It's still a bloody gimik and the 'special liquid' is quite a chemical that freezes easily and does not thaw so fast.
I'd be a tad nervous about that splitting or leaking (Maybe they double bund the unit. Who knows)

Nice idea in principle - I suspect it won't add much to most people's sessions.

Meh, I never notice a difference between cold water and cold water with lots of ice and almost frozen. So why is there a need for us to place a towel underneath the base to collect condensation? I agree with JD as well on the leak factor. The actual water chamber is quite small in that base as well. I am curious to see how well that will perform.

Well, I was merely directed there with the word that it's not quite in mass production yet. The guy said he'd let me know the price as soon as he found out what it was. It's not an insert or anything else seperate from the looks of it. I think the "fits" any stem means it can be pushed on a stem OR screwed on since it looks like it has threads.

You guys know as much as I do at this point. More since some of you have read the entire write up... wink.gif

It says on the website "Non-toxic" and "Food Grade Material". I'm sure it will just make your expierance abit unpleasent, and a little sick to the stomach if it leaks. But it's more then likely nothing to be too concerned about.

Great concept but really, it's just another gimmick for "enhancing" your smoke.

All these new bowls, screens, etc. just to enhance the experience by a little bit aren't worth it IMO.

The only addition to my KM that actually proved worthwhile is the Nammor hose. Wish I had known that before spending money on phunnels, etc. I doubt this product makes a noticable difference. If you want, you can put freezing/cold water just a little below the usual line when putting ice [giving it a little space to fill up to the usual spot or just higher once it melts]. There's not that much a difference between freezing water and water with ice anyway. In fact, freezing water has been more enjoyable and easier to draw from than putting ice in the base IMO.
