jakescakes
honestly guys, what does ur tobacco look like after an hour, or whenever your done smoking. no matter what i do, its BURNT like a crispt after. whether its 1 small coal, 2 small, 1 large. whether its two slits or multiple needle holes. small bowl or the larger. the only way i seem to get a good smoke is if i PACK the bowl excessivly to the point where its a small mound on top, that way only the top of the tobacco burns and sticks to the foil, while under is completely un-scorched. since the smoke travels from the bottom of the bowl, i guess this is ok? by the way i use a mini IVORY from hookah-shisha. currently have the large ass ceramic bowl it came with, 20-25 gms, and a some-what smaller one i got at a store which the mouth of the bowl isnt as wide. jakescakes
i also seem to not be able to taste the flavor of any tobacco. i only limit myself to PEACH right now from naklah, thats all i can find in arabic stores here. i cant stand any other flavor. i use 3 kings instant charcoal. 1 small one, sometimes 1.5 on the head any reccomendations for other charcoal, its always pretty harsh after 30 min/
cypress
I burn it to an extent where i dont tast it. I use AF and for the most part the very bottom of it is still moist. Its a blackened moist though. Nakhala is quite a bit drier than AF. I honestly havent seen a dripping Nakhala.
mushrat
Its going to look burnt. Mine comes out as this black, hard/crispy little puck. Its should be black and not white ash burnt. You are cooking it rather than burning it directly like pipe tobacco for instance. I Use bulk natural charcaol myself, takes a bit longer to get going and you have to add more charcoal more often, but I think it provides a superior smoke. The natural vs. quicklights debate is a favourite around here and can provide hours of enjoyment for both new comers and old timers alike.
jmexx
I smoke Al Amir and after an hour and a half only 1/2 is burnt, maybe 3/4. I've always wanted to try smoking it for longer but I change flavours after an hour and a half, heh. Try not to pack your bowl to much, if the aluminum foil touches your tobacco it's going to burn quick thus it will taste bad quicker. I use 3 kings and I would never use any other quiclighting coals. I used Golden coals but it barely heats up the tobacco. Good luck and happy smoking!Jon
