Foos
So for the past few weeks Ive been unable to seed torrents and today I cant even access torrent sites. Ive actualy been able to get into one or two but every time I try to download a torrent the connection fails. Ive been reading a lot that Comcast has been interupting traffic from torrent sites and peoples ability to seed torrents. They of course denied such claims but I'm really confused as to why now all of the sudden I cant even visit torrent sites. Anyone know why I'm having problems or has anyone else who has Comcast had problems recently? I really hate Comcast with a passion but unfortunatelly its the only cable internet provider in my area. There was a class action filed over it a few days ago. It seems they recently started using Sandvine's software to stop seeds. I bet you are having a seed run for 30-40 minutes, then drop both ends. They aren't actually throttling the torrent, but stopping the seed dead. If you force protocol header encryption you will likely beat it (for now). Dekon
Dude i thought i had it bad. My dad just started using torrents and i had to help him adjust his upload speeds because anything that goes past 10-20 kbps completely lags the net. My isp right now is bellsouth which has a huge problem with stability. The net would just go off for 2 minutes and come back up, i've tried restarting the router but it never works. I really hope you switch isp's even though comcast is pretty fast.
Geiseric
Don't expect the freedom we have had with the internet to continue. Unless the RIAA and MPAA and others along the same vein pull their heads out of their asses and realize that the market has changed because of their abuse of it, and that it demands a change in said market, all legit uses for P2P will suffer as well. This especially hurts the Linux community and other media outlets that require large transfers to deploy their product, but cannot afford hosting. At this point in time the future of the open nature of the internet looks quite grim, unless a huge paradigm shift occurs in the way information and copyright occurs, which I doubt. Its much easier to criminalize a majority of those who use the internet.
Dekon
If the internet becomes what they think "Should" be i will probably move to some other country that allows downloads of music, and movies, and probably other applications that i might want. This is becoming rediculous. First Oink gets raided by the uk police and blabber false information, demonoid shuts down due to the cria. I'm pretty sure torrents in the next year will be hard to come by because of all the regulation occuring on the internet.

Foos
Yeah Demonoid shutting down really sucked, but its even worse when your ISP are the ones restricting your access to certain content. I think it's rediculous because I thought there where laws against monopolies and Comcast has clearly become one. There used to be 2-3 different cable ISP's here but they were all bought out by Comcast. AHH I hate them soo much.
