TheScotsman
QUOTE (Ooph @ Nov 19 2007, 07:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Well a shotgun is not a long ranged weapon and I believed they came after him and he shot at them. One was coming after him running sideways, and the other backwards then. Silly burglars! They were not hit in any way that would indicate they were attacking him, one was the side, and the other in the upper back.Kinda "shoots" that theory, doesn't it? erufiku
I'm with ghostofdavid's last point: it really sickens me that the criminal now has more rights and receives more compassion than his/her victim. Seeing how soft the Canadian law is on criminals, I am left to yearn for a penal system that hardcore fellons would actually fear. That being said, I believe we in Canada have a higher percentage of brutal crimes than the US. The problem is that law-abiding citizens are denied means of legal self-defence, while those whose minds are set on doing wrong to the society can easily obtain firearms, etc. to carry out on their shady business. As to gaia's points... I'd give you an A+ if you were participating in a sociology class. But if you really believe in what you've written... Well, I just hope your views are not shared by a significant percentage of the population, because if they are, we might as well commit mass suicide here and now.
