Greetings everyone,
I am a new member to the board and a new member to hookah enthusiasm. I just ordered an Al Fahker 36" hookah with a variety of assorted shisha, and am very excited to start puffing. I am cigar and occasional pipe smoker, and I finally gave in and bought a hookah. When I was younger I used to smoke other herbs and I think I will enjoy a nice water cooled smoke again. Anyhow, I have a couple of questions. I live in Minnesota, and was wondering what those of you that have to endure winter do when you can't smoke inside. Also, I was wondering if shisha smoke has a strong "tobacco" odor like cigars or cigarettes that others may find unpleasant, or does it have a pleasant aroma like some pipe tobacco? I may be able to convince my parents to let me smoke indoors if I convince them it is a pleasing aroma.
I look forward to joining the ranks of hookah lovers,
SmokingDjinn

welcome to the forum. First of all congrats on the tall AF pipe, I have one and I love it. I don't live in Minnesota, but I do smoke indoors. When I do so I have a giant carboard box under it to catch the coals when they fall off (usually due to bumping or tugging of the hose). The smell that hookah gives off is nothing like cigars, it is very pleasent. Some might even say it smells like perfume. Girls love the smell of the shisha, even if they are non smokers. I hope this answers your questions, and welcome to the forum

I'm still a newbie, but what I've found thus far is that the smoke doesn't "stick" to clothes. In fact, I haven't washed my hoodie in three weeks and it's been through at least 10 smokes. Still smells like bounce sheets. I'd say it's safe to smoke indoors without worrying about odors.

Welcome to the board and Hookah love.

The Hookah will be a great twist from the cigars and pipe. I am also a heavy cigar smoker but at the end of the day I love to sit back and smoke the Hookah instead of a cigar more relaxing and entertaining for me. You will be very happy with your new hobby.

Thanks
Bubba

Welcome to the boards.

I think you did a good job picking out your pipe, which is more than I can say for myself when buying my first hookah. As far as your questions go, I really love smoking in the cold. Just bundle up, grab a blanket and a book, and smoke away.

IF you are in need of any help many of us a re willing to give a helping post(hand) just post under the general topic with correct grammer and NO CAPS or feel free to PM me. I check the forums often and I am pretty familiar with most hookah problems seeing as I have either had them, helped out at the local lounge where theyhappen, or have idiot friends who bring these careless/harmless mistakes upon themselves happy.gif
