oolatec
QUOTE (Toly @ Nov 20 2007, 11:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>but what is a fundamental difference between Syrian and Mya? (facts)Syrians are hand made... glass bases/paint, and the shafts. The patterns on the bases aren't perfect, but that's part of the charm... at least to me it is. I'd rather have something solid, and made by hand, than something of questionable quality (particularly MYA bases) made by machine. But that's just me. Hookah making is an art form. ZenSilk
Only Syrians that don't have threads are made by hand. SocialSmoke has a great selection of hand made solid brass Syrians and they are very traditional in build and quality. JandR and Hookah-Shisha Syrians are made by machine, except the bases of course, so they fit perfectly together and look beautiful. JandR has beautiful Syrians, Hookah-Shisha also has very nice ones if you like flashy-ness (but they have no brass parts), and Social Smoke has very Traditional ornamental Syrians; but mya prides themselves mostly on Beauty, yet all Mya's function perfectly.JandR Syrians and Myas run around the same price range, SS Syrians are much mroe affordable, and H-S Syrians are inbetween. Honestly i think i would reccomend a JandR or a Mya for multiple hoses if that's what you plan for.
